Sounds preposterous really, but we'll wait and see what comes out in the wash. Odd though, that only the day before, he was supposedly giving it loads about being back playing and then this appears out of thin air

Stop bringing up vile rumours about our captain then. It is possible for a guy just to have a few injuries you know, it doesnt have to be anything more.

Thing is, he was saying recently how he feels stronger and fitter than ever - granted that might just be a bit of 'saying the right thing' but if his career was in jeopardy, i honestly dont think he'd have been so emphatic about how fit and strong he was feeling.

It's a nightmare, I'm pretty worried for his fitness/future.

Gerrard is important to us and a real difference maker when he is fit and playing.

By the same token, we've not had him for pretty much all of Kenny's (2nd) reign, barring the odd couple of games - and we've not done badly in his absence.

Of course, but he wont be around forever and we must accept that. Obviously hoping the current issues turn out to be nothing major and he'll be back soon. But over the next few years, he will be finishing up and we will have to cope without him when it happens.

I think we've come a long way since the days where he was the only player we'd look to.
