Although having just caught up on the profound sociological musings in the Rodgers thread about footballers and social class, I realise that making bricks without straw is what the internet is for.

I read that exchange with an involuntary, reflexive head shake. It wouldnt stop even after I put down my tablet and left the house. It continued in the car and most of the way to work.

Been brilliant these last 8 games or so. Really growing into his role in Rodgers' team. If he can keep this up he'll be a massive asset. Amazing that he's played every minute so far. Typical really - he played **** all the year we should've won the title.

He was fantastic today and looked like the gerrard of old. All over the pitch, getting stuck in, spreading the ball and scoring a cracker. If he'd have played this much the year we should have won it we would have walked the league. What was it him and torres only played like 15 games together that season?

A true Legend and it has been a privilege to watch him all these years. Carra was good today as well and didn't put a foot wrong. He's still got it

I think the upturn has happened when he has played his more natural game of long and short passes which he wasn't doing earlier in the season.

He can be very effective in that role if he has players around him to complement his style.

Never thought we'd see him look this good physically again. After all the injuries, taking pain killing injections to get on the pitch, the surgery etc and dont think his style is the easiest on the body compared to say an Alonso. Agger looks great too, we must be doing something right there.

I actually think the back room medical team and fitness guys we have now are amazing. They seem to know how to handle the different players requirements. Top class.

And boy is Stevie benefitting. As for his new role. Wow. There is no doubt in my mind that Rodgers saw Stevie playing in a different way, but changed it once he saw him up close & personal.

Either way, it's working like a dream.
