Who cares?Originally posted by ntto View Posthe's not an LFC player though - so why is he in LFC player kit?
It's not like he's going to roll up in his trackies and t-shirt otherwise he'd look a right cunt!
Great to see him back.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

I'm deliberately being facetious when I say this but where do you draw the line with ex players coming to the club to get dressed up in club kit to train with the first team?Originally posted by Slinky Skills View PostWho cares?

Great to see him back.
Do we really want to shadow of the former captain looming over the players when they have (maybe) finally had the chance to come out from under it?
Putting him into LFC kit doesn't make what should be the necessary distinction between him and our squad

I don't think his shadow was big enough for 18 men to need to crawl from underOriginally posted by ntto View PostDo we really want to shadow of the former captain looming over the players when they have (maybe) finally had the chance to come out from under it?
No you're right, even though they're probably aware that Gerrard hasn't played for Liverpool this season, and in fact has moved to another team on the other side of the world, I think having him in a Liverpool kit is only going to confuse the poor babies. Come Wednesday, they'll be expecting to turn around and pass to him, but he won't be there!Originally posted by ntto View PostPutting him into LFC kit doesn't make what should be the necessary distinction between him and our squadI saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I didn't say a line needs to be drawn - I was asking for peoples opinions.Originally posted by Fierce View PostWhy do you think a line needs to be drawn?

But since you've asked, yes I do think some distinction needs to be made. He's not our player, he's contracted to another club and he's not on loan to anybody. I wonder what his employers make of him appearing in the press in another clubs kit.

As far as I can see they are the only people who might have a reasonable issue with this. We get a bit of positive publicity. If the players confidence sense of team unity or whatever is upset by him running round in a similar shirt to theirs then you have to feel it wasn't very robust in the first place.Originally posted by ntto View PostI didn't say a line needs to be drawn - I was asking for peoples opinions.

When Beckham trained with Aresnal he wore their kit. I would have thought it was standard practice to have everyone using the same kit.
I can see that there is the idea that he was a bit of an issue at times when he was in the squad in terms of preventing people taking responsibility. However, the big difference now is that he can't be picked on match days."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

He's just training for a few weeks, it's not a big deal! At least we've got someone to blame if Southampton beat us though!!Originally posted by ntto View PostI didn't say a line needs to be drawn - I was asking for peoples opinions.

Thought Klopp made a good point about Gerrard in his Southampton presser. The latter's presence is important for several reasons but among them is the impression it gives the current crop of players, especially the younger up-and-comers. He spoke about how, when a player of Stevie's calibre commits so many years to the club and exhibits the associated loyalty, the club's door stays open. The bond never goes away. I liked that. Maybe it's a bit rose-tinted, but footballers seem like a bunch of sentimental saps anyway so I'm sure it's a message that resonates.

Situation is being over analysed. I am sure the players are more than happy to have him around the training ground."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley
