The change here in just these two years are immense, and it is not slowing down. My wife feels safe around town in her western clothing and segregation of the sexes is dying. She’s been told “thank you” for going out dressed as a western woman by the Saudi women who serve her in shops etc.
I can’t deny that it is not a perfect country but the archaic view that is portrayed in our (UK) press is not reflected in day to day life out here.
I’ll happily answer serious questions in another thread if people are genuinely interested in what it is like living and working here.
Now if we could just sort out some bacon and beer….
Can’t argue with that bit about his management skills to be fair.
