Meanwhile, in real world where Rafa isn't omnipotent, Liverpool fans were not simply Rafa's sheep, they saw the problems themselves and reacted. The board didn't block the mortgaging of the stadium and future revenue because Rafa said so.Originally posted by Arn View PostWhat a load of bull****.
What finished G&H off was that the supporter groups mail bombed banks, investment companies and so on to stop them loaning G&H any money.
Supporter groups that started and could continue to fight our corner because we had a manager that backed them all the way. A manager that wasn't prepared to sit quiet in the corner looking on when G&H sold player after player after player to pay the debt.
You would probably been happy if the manager just had sat there in the corner doing nothing and looked on when G&H asset stripped the club.
That asset stripping would have been a lot worse if it wasn't because of Rafa.
Rafa fought to get the power he needed to stop that happening. A fight he bloody well knew could cost him his job and in the end did just that.
Stop talking bull****.

and why did they see the problem? Never thought of that? Who leaked things to the media so they could see what happened?Originally posted by Kenneth View PostMeanwhile, in real world where Rafa isn't omnipotent, Liverpool fans were not simply Rafa's sheep, they saw the problems themselves and reacted. It wasn't news by then. The second part is purely hypothetical. They asset stripped anyway so it wasn't that effective I would suggest. The main thing his conplaints achieved was getting him the sack.Originally posted by Arn View Postand that proved to everyone what G&H was all about when he did that. If he hadn't moaned about it then the asset stripping would have been a lot worse.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

It was not the key at all - it defnitely would have been a tiny influence in the risk analysis that banks carry out when determining whether or not to allow re-financijng to occur. The biggest influences probably were the fact that G & H were losing money in all their other investments in America, they were turning down realistic offers for the club, the global recession and RBS is pretty much state owned now. Banks are under heavy pressure and funding a football team would not be giving the finance world the confidence in an already crippled bank that is RBS.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

maybe you could link some of rafa's leaks, such as the refinancing where the debt was shifted.
Rafa gets arsey when under pressure unfortunately. Last season, all the issues with the owners were out in the open. If rafa had kept his head down more he would still be here and we'd still have new owners IMO. Either way, no way was Rafa the main reason for the change of ownership.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

We can take Man U some an example.
If Fergie had fought to get rid of Glazers then they would probably been gone by now. They would have been forced to sell up because of the pressure from Fergie and the supporters but what would have happened to Fergie then?
Maybe or maybe not he would have been sacked. He isn't prepared to risk his job fighting to get rid of Glazers. He backs them in interview after interview.
Rafa wasn't prepared to do that. He was prepared to risk his job to get rid of G&H. He fought against them in interview after interview telling everyone how bad owners they are.
Fergie isn't more stupid than that he know that he is so big that if he started to fight the owners then the backing he would get would most probably mean the end of Glazers at United but he could be sacked doing it.
He isn't prepared to risk that. He is prepared to wait instead not risking his job.Stop the cyberhate

Roy Evans's team tried to adhere to the basic principles of pass and move but tactically they were very much "off the cuff." When it came off they were brilliant. However, unless you have a team of great players there are too many times when it just doesn't come off and you end up getting battered by Coventry.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostJust curious abouthe whole 'no pattern' bit. Not a chance. They needed to get rid of him to be able to sell players. Rafa could have stopped that, he had the final say.Originally posted by Kenneth View Post
