Yeah, ok, how many teams have won the league in the last 15 years? 3
Only 5 teams have even won the FA cup in the last 15 years. Only Portsmouth, outside of Us, United, Arsenal and Chelsea.

You could argue that the PL has been shocking this season though. In a 'normal' season, we'd be more than 9 points off the summit.Originally posted by destinydude View PostBoth have done equally bad in their jobs. Inter are 9 points off the top now, so are we.
But that's by the by, the point is Inter should be doing much better - although i dont agree that it'd be 'inexcusable' if they didnt win Serie A.

Well in general IMO the Premier League is a much better league than Serie A. But by saying competitive apart from the Milan teams no other Italian team has challenged in the Champs league, Juve 8-9 years ago. Whereas Liverpool/Man Utd/Chelsea/Arsenal have all challenged for Champs for 5 or 6 years running, last season being only season in 5 or 6 that an English team hasn't been in the final.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostWhat is your definition of a 'competitive league' ?
Sure in 2007,2008 and in 2009 in the semi's consisted of 3 English teams out of the 4 semi finalists, speaks for itself how strong the premier league was and considering Man United/Chelsea/Spurs/Arsenal/Liverpool are all top of their groups in Europe at the moment, seems the premier league is still very strong.

That just suggests the Prem has been a stronger league, it has nothing to do with the competitiveness of the league.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWell in general IMO the Premier League is a much better league than Serie A. Based on what, exactly?Originally posted by danperkins View PostWell in general IMO the Premier League is a much better league than Serie A.
What does CL performance have to do with competitiveness of Serie A and the PL?But by saying competitive apart from the Milan teams no other Italian team has challenged in the Champs league, Juve 8-9 years ago. As i suspected, you dont really know what the term 'competitive league' means.

That is something new to the prem this season however.Originally posted by dom9 View PostA question for a new thread really but, does the fact that the top teams in England are not doing so well against the lesser teams mean that the league is more or less competitive?
