It was a move any ambitious manager would have made, one of the biggest challenges in football, and one with a lot of prestige (and not least pay).

Great move, that perhaps does not turn out all that great. But if you never fail then you have never challenged yourself - it's the risk of having an interesting life.

Inter president Massimo Moratti has denied reports that midfielder Esteban Cambiasso, the man whose goal took the club into the knockout stages of the Champions League on Wednesday night, had requested the removal of coach Rafael Benitez.

Benitez has been under real pressure after an unconvincing start to his Inter reign that has seen the club surrender a lengthy unbeaten home record in Serie A, to rivals Milan no less, and slip nine points behind the Serie A leaders.

Moratti has been unimpressed with Inter's displays and it was suggested that Cambiasso had also spoken to the president and expressed his own concerns with Benitez's methods at the Nerazzurri.

However, after Cambiasso scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over FC Twente, Moratti firmly rejected suggestions that the player had approached him with a view to removing Benitez.

"I wasn't aware he had said anything of the sort," Moratti said. "The players would never say certain things, and nor would I allow them to. Cambiasso has full respect for Benitez and wants him stay."

Inter supporters demonstrated their backing for Benitez with a banner that read 'Rafa Benitez: one of us', and Moratti said he shared a fond moment with the Spaniard following the final whistle: "We both had a huge smile on our faces and we shook hands, which means more than any words.

"The team demonstrated great character but also played some good football. The young players did well and the personal satisfaction of scoring that goal was just what Cambiasso needed."
        We going to win #19th!!

An epic with Parma at the mo, 3-2 in the first half. Crespo with 2 for Parma. Awesome game.

                        Julio Cesar,

                        Maicon, Walter Samuel, Chivu, Muntari.

                        Tiago Motta, Mariga, Joel Obi

                        Coutinho, Eto'o, Diego Milito.

Thats not Inter's team its the 11 they're missing!! Aswell as others that could do a job in an injury crisis like Suazo and Mancini. Absolutely insane.

I've never heard of 6 of 7 of the players on the bench. Hopefully Inter manage to get the three points. I see Santon has come off, presumably injured
