Why would he go to atletico??

That's surely less likely than a return to Anfield.

Plus the fact there are still players here who fairly obviously wouldn't be happy about his return..........the whole thing would just be too messy. I think we need a clean start.

Although if a genie appeared tonight and offered me Hodgson out but only on the condition Rafa came back, I'd take it. Obviously.
Most of the in-fighting was down to cunt and cunter - and they've gone.

The players - well, they were unhappy because we werent winning. A backed Rafa, would win. And players are as fickle as fans, if the team is winning and players are playing, they're happy.

Why is it less likely?? He will return home for sure imo. Athletico was just a team I picked out cause I have soft spot for them.

Home is Madrid and he's a Madridista (Real).

It'd be like a Liverpool-born Red scouser, going back to manage everton.

            Aye that's fair enough.

I still think there is a large enough portion of fans who had had enough of him and don't want him back. I don't think it would meet with total approval, although that's seldom the case with any new manager.

But Roy or Rafa is a no-brainer, and I remain totally convinced Rafa is hell-bent on coming back and finishing the job. Convinced.

                I hope you're right Sean.

And re the fans - an even more fickle version of the players

If he comes back and wins, the fans, to a man, will love him.

i am not sure rafa should come back.

the amount he asks of players seems to have an effect on them.

can we afford the player turnover he probably needs?

its sad i dont think he would be as political as he was but if you were NESV or FSG would you want someone with the power of Rafa?

the only thing i do know is i dont want roy but who i want thats more difficult than the obvious

I think he's an absolute obsessive nutcase....and the fact he came so close to leading us to #19 only to watch it all crumble under H&G and Purslow will drive him absolutely insane. We've all seen his wife's comments, we know about the house, he hasn't taken his eye off us all season, knows everything that's going on (all this probably pisses the Inter fans off ) and has taken what seems very much an interim post on a short-term contract which compromises much of the control he likes to have. I might be wrong of course but I'm completely convinced he wants to come back to finish what he started. Whether he'll ever get the chance is another matter.

I wish the fans had been singing his name, instead of Kenny's.

If not Rafa then who? That is really the big question. There isn't more than maybe four five other top class options out there. We can discuss other names but they could be total failures and that would be a catastrophe.

Rafa will at least for now be the safest option by some distance. Maybe not the best option but the safest one.
