Are they not challenging on every front this season? And have the teams around them not improved?Originally posted by Imustbreakyou View PostThey were challenging on every front last season so obviously the league form is going to suffer a bit. You don't take over a team good enough to win the treble & not win a poor Italian league with it.
It was a daft statement.

Of course they should do much better. Season's not at halfway point yet though.Originally posted by danperkins View PostWith that team though he should be doing so much better. Expectation is so high after wining league 5 or 6 years on the trot, I'm sure they'll invest in January but Rafa could be gone before then if they don't start winning. Moratti and the fans take no prisoners over there, no forgiveness.
I'd be surprised if he lasts the whole season though, Italian football is unforgiving.

Yes, they dominated after Calciopoli, not a shock is it, but they have still not been able to strengthen an ageing squad this season and the teams around them have and it is not like they walked the league last season is now?Originally posted by danperkins View PostWhat about the other 5 consecutive times? Inter have dominated Serie A for years now, there is no excuse for Rafa not to be doing very well at Inter.
Yes, they should be doing much better, but saying there is no excuse to not win the league is a simplistic statement.

That is very different from saying 'there is no excuse whatsoever for inter not winning the league'Originally posted by danperkins View PostWhat about the other 5 consecutive times? Inter have dominated Serie A for years now, there is no excuse for Rafa not to be doing very well at Inter.

I don't think I could agree with that, it is not like Inter have been languishing near the bottom.Originally posted by anfieldanfield View PostRafa has done a very, very poor job so far at Inter.
You could argue he has done worse there than Hodgson has done here.

Not really relevant though. They began from a starting point of treble winners and 6-in-a-row champions. We began from our worst season in decades and 7th place.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI don't think I could agree with that, it is not like Inter have been languishing near the bottom.

Yes but being 6th is hardly like being 19th was either.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostNot really relevant though. They began from a starting point of treble winners and 6-in-a-row champions. We began from our worst season in decades and 7th place.
2-0 to Chievo now

2-0 Chievo

Such a poor goal to concede defensively, too. Very un-Rafa defending. It's all relative.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostYes but being 6th is hardly like being 19th was either.
And anyway, Inter are currently 6th - we're not currently 19th. You're shifting time to suit the argument.

I am not, I am just saying that they haven't been that low, and it was a position that we should have never, ever have been in. Inter should be doing better yes, but I don't think that Rafa has taken Inter down in a way that Roy has done to us.Last edited by Mattshark; 21-11-10, 04:45 PM.
