Rafa will soon be forced to play himself if this continues. Five injuries in the last two league games.

Samuels injury looked like a bad one.

Rafa must wonder how they could only score one goal creating a million chances or so. Milito, from excellent to rubbish in a few months. Coutinho looks more and more like a young Aimar.

        The game finished 1-1

I said it before. It's probably not a coincidence that Rafa's teams almost always get a lot of injuries. The high pressing all over the pitch tactic means more tired players and that means more injuries.

Gareth Bale made Maicon, the Uefa Defender of the Year, look like a Volvo racing a Ferrari, suggested Rafael Benitez yesterday.

The Internazionale manager was responding to critics, including his own chairman Massimo Moratti, of his tactics during Tuesday's 3-1 Champions League defeat at Tottenham. Even as he was speaking he was further chastised by the winning manager, Harry Redknapp, who said Ian Holloway would have done a better job.

          Gomes: 'I didn't become a keeper until I was 19. I'm learning!'
Redknapp said: "Were they [Inter] clever tactically the other night? Leaving Gareth Bale one-on-one with their right-back? When he keeps ripping him up? I don't know. I was surprised. I think Ian Holloway would have doubled up on him."

Benitez's defence was to point out the match situation. "I have played many times against Bale," Benitez said. "I know that he is quick and difficult to mark. It's not a question of the wide players covering him, but the problem was that we were losing. We needed to attack [so our midfielders were advanced]. When we lost the ball Bale was quicker in the space and it was tough to contain him. If I drive a Volvo against a Ferrari on a straight, I lose. The Volvo is a good car because it's our sponsor, but the Ferrari races faster."

Particularly ironic due to the goal they did get being Eto'o tripping over the ball rather than the player. That at the end from Milito was guilt edge, at the start of the season Milito was playing pretty well imo but just wasn't scoring. Today he was rather poor, although he wasn't fully fit and I don't think that Rafa banked on playing him for more than an hour, but due to the injuries to Maicon/Samuel he didn't have a choice really. Thought Santon was excellent, better than Maicon actually after he came on. That Obi kid looks like he could very well be a good midfielder in the future seems to be really strong physically for such a young guy but played the ball well too. Definitely one to keep an eye out for.

Thought Coutinho was rather poor today, he had one or two glimpses. I think it's going to be a lot of hard work before he fulfills his potential.

I rate Santon as the best young fullback out there. Don't have a clue why Rafa isn't playing him more.

He was excellent before he got the injury that kept him out several months. He is a lot better than Chivu that is playing instead of him.

Italian journo on SSN yesterday said that if Rafa doesn't win World Club Championship's, he's apparantly gone. That could be a nice Christmas present.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

They are struggling thus far, very mixed bag especially with that squad at his disposal. If Rafa doesn't get few wins on the bounce soon the Inter fans will be all over it, they don't mess around over there. I'm sure Inter fans weren't happy losing Mourinho and Rafa was a step down from him, few more results like this and the knives will be out.
