Moratti more or less confirms it.....
Internazionale president Massimo Moratti refused to comment amid media reports Rafael Benitez was to be sacked as coach following his outburst over signings.
"I prefer not to talk today to avoid the risk of creating controversies," Moratti told reporters.
Monday's Gazzetta dello Sport said Benitez, only in the role for six months, was being removed with Zenit St. Petersburg coach Luciano Spalletti favourite to take over the World, European and Italian champions.
On Sunday, club owner Moratti had labelled comments by Benitez after their World Club Cup win on Saturday as "inappropriate".
The coach told a stunned news conference in Abu Dhabi that Inter had to make signings or else he would speak with his agent about his future.
Their fifth trophy this year had appeared to have secured the Spaniard's job after a sticky domestic spell but with Inter not playing again until Serie A resumes on Jan. 6, Moratti has time to make a decision.
Former Liverpool coach Benitez only took over in June after treble-winning Jose Mourinho left for Real Madrid.
Benitez asked for new players for the start of the campaign but no signings materialised and a subsequent injury crisis has contributed to champions Inter lying 13 points behind leaders AC Milan at Serie A's mid-season break.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but that was the first thing that came to my mind. Why keep quiet all that time and now all of a sudden, after winning a C-grade trophy that he was expected to win either way, comes a outburst with ultimatums? He didn't deliver Tom & George ultimatums and they were horrible really.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He's hardly ever been a regular for them.Originally posted by Arn View PostMaybe you don't know that Milan for example signed probably the best player in Serie A the last decade plus Robinho. Juventus signed up the most sought after realistic player outside Serie A, Krasic. Every big club wanted him. Napoli signed up Cavani. Inter signed up.......wait they sold Balotelli. Inter weaker, rivals MUCH stronger.......
I really don't want the stuff you smoke because it is probably illegal.

Imagine the confidence boost the players get when they sign him up. Suddenly they look at that record knowing that they have a big chance to win the league.

That has to be the biggest load of bollocks I have heard in my life (not having a go at you).Originally posted by Imy View PostIbrahimovich

1) He has not even been in Serie A for 10 years
2) In 5 and a half years in Italy, he has won Serie A twice and that was with Inter: Inter had already won the league twice in a row before he had had signed. OK - he may have had one more Serie A title I think had Juve not got done for match fixing but he hasn't.
3) I can name several players who have contributed more to Italian football than him in the last decade. Totti being one.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

man city will be the only club truly suited to rafa. the owners there will just give him a blank cheque book.Originally posted by Arn View Post
He already have another job lined up IMO. His family are already back. The question is then...us or Man C? He will probably move back "home" and that only leaves us and Man C as realistic clubs.
it really does puzzle me that people are still begging for rafa to come "home". i and hopefully others realise that while he did a good job for us he will never be the manager to bring us number 19 IMO. he was and is a great man but not again IMO a great manager.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Totti is probably the most overrated player in Serie A the last decade.
It doesn't matter if he played ten years in Italy or not. He won the league twice with Juventus and three times with Inter.Stop the cyberhate
