Rafa has faults, but you know what, I got him. Somehow all his bizare subs (except last year) had some sort of logic behind them. And even if you look at last year, you could argue his thinking being "if you don't support me, or back me in the transfer window, I won't support your economic model of keeping this club". Cruel to be kind. Your best teacher you hated at the time.
Yeah, there's probably no chance of NESV entertaining the idea, not with all the false prophets bleating to the press on how he ****ed up the club. But, with hindsight, everyone now realises what **** circumstances he was offered. And what the English alternative is.
He is progressive as they come. He has more foresight in modern football than anyone else I've seen on how to get 110 out of sub standard players on paper. No matter how hard some fat idiots want to put tread mills on the side of the pitch.
He's not perfect, he's mongral. I like him more for that.Last edited by Kronenburg1892; 20-12-10, 12:31 AM.

Rafa Benitez faces sack in next 48 hours after astonishing attack on Inter president
Rafa Benitez is expected to be sacked as Inter Milan boss in the next 48 hours after launching an astonishing attack on club owner Massimo Moratti.
The former Liverpool manager hit out moments after Inter’s 3-0 World Club Championship win over Africa’s TP Mazembe, as he used the post-match press conference to pour out months of pent-up frustration.
There were shades of his bitter war of words with ex-Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, towards the end of his time at Anfield, as he accused Moratti of showing favouritism to predecessor Jose Mourinho and fumed: 'Last year, Moratti spent 80 million euros on five players, but this year he has spent nothing for me.
'I don’t know why that has happened, but it has left me 100 per cent disappointed. I deserve more respect.
'In August, the club promised me three players, but none have arrived. I have had to shoulder all the blows and responsibilities.
'It seems to me there are three options now for the club. One, 100 per cent support for the coach and four or five new players to build a stronger team. Two, carry on like this, without a project or any planning and go ahead with one person to blame.
'Three, speak to my agent and reach an agreement. Simple.'
Benitez’s blunt ultimatum for Moratti to back him or sack him looked like backfiring, as Inter’s long-serving president made it clear he took a dim view of the outburst.
He vowed to savour Inter’s triumph but made it clear he was in the mood to end Benitez’s San Siro reign, after barely six months, once they returned to Milan.
Asked if Benitez had ruined the Inter party, Moratti said: 'No, for the moment, no. His comments are not suitable for the situation, but, for now, this Inter fan is a happy man.
'I am not going to talk about Benitez or his future for the moment.
'But clearly, this is not the moment to ask for reinforcements, and it is not something we will decide now.’
Benitez has kept his home on Merseyside and made no secret of his wish to return to Liverpool for a second spell in charge.
Current boss Roy Hodgson is under pressure, after a poor start, but new owner John Henry would be wary of taking on a coach with a track record for picking fights behind the scenes.
If Benitez is sacked, the FA will be bracing themselves for an approach for Fabio Capello from Inter.

If you wanted to be conspiracy minded you could say that Rafa has sought the sack in this situation. Which would mean he doesn't have to have his contract bought out...
I dunno, what with this and the mention that JWH refered to him as Rafa in interview...
Who knows, I'd personally be delighted if he came back though. I would probably steer clear of internet forums for a while after it though.Modifying post.

That's exactly how my mind works TBH. My very 1st thought was just that & the feeling isn't going away.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIf you wanted to be conspiracy minded you could say that Rafa has sought the sack in this situation. We would improve with him coming back but I still don't think he'll ever win us the league TBH.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I think it would be a shame if Rafa came back here so soon, it to me have failure written all over it, and I'm afraid that it would lead to Rafa loosing a lot of the love build for him in his time here. There will still be a split in the squad if he comes back, and tbh. our team would not be any better just because he is here. The team failed to perform last season under Rafa and this season under the hodger, so the players on average are perhaps not as good as we would like to think - ok it clearly doesn't help having old rubber in charge...
If Rafa comes back and fails to restart the squad and perhaps his relationship with them, he would be remembered less fundly than now, which to me would be sad.
