True his family are settled here and I can understand them not wanting to go back.
But with regards to the media and pundits making him unpopular- he didn't exactly help himself either. The way he conducted himself was always going to result in him pissing people off and he made loads of strange decisions too so I can understand why people are wary of him.

Also its hard to trust a man who can't look after himself. Image is everything in a top job and if you remember how he looked back in 2005 (slim, calm, controlled and professional) compared to how he looks now.........the opposite of all of the above

****ing hell, cheap shot or what?

He's hardly the only manager in the world carrying some extra pounds.

How about Ferguson? Is he 'looking after himself' with that alcohol-induced purple nose?

      Ridiculous point.

And so called LFC fans that will still argue to this day that they can think for themselves.

I'll have to ignore the subsequent post to yours.

I can see why that looks like an attack on him but its honestly not. Its just the plain honest truth about being in a top job. You can't let yourself go from looking so smart and focused to how he appears now. It effects his image

Not many managers look like catalogue models. It doesnt seem to affect many others' image, so why him?

I still don't get it. He's carrying extra pounds and - shock - has aged. How does that affect his image? It doesn't make him any less 'calm' or 'professional'.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Anyway I very much doubt the reason he isn't getting jobs is due to him gaining a few pounds.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don't agree but it sure was funny.

Ignoring the last point which has been discussed already. Just looking at the bit in bold, you could apply the same points to alot of top managers Wenger in particular over recent years is a good example. Numerous attacks on other managers, players and clubs, making some very strange decisions both tactically and in the transfer market. But if he left Arsenal there would be alot of clubs in the Premiership interested in appointing him.

I dont think Rafa's perceived bickering with owners helps him much. Rumour had it he asked for £30m as a transfer budget and Villa said no.

True, but he has a few PL titles behind him, a reputation for beautiful football and for spotting undervalued players.

FACT- Majority of people make judgements based on image and appearance and that has a massive effect on how people in top jobs are regarded by outsiders.

If your successful every season then obviously no-one will care but if your struggling then it will reflect badly. And its not just weight gain, its the overall image

When it comes to football, that is utter balls, with all due respect.

Obviously it can't be utter balls if so many of our rival fans attack Rafa by calling him a fat spanish waiter, make fun of his rants and his goatee. That makes no difference to Liverpool fans because obviously we recognize most of his good qualities but you can't deny that image makes a difference to outsiders
