And when you have a squad of massively better players than a team visiting Anfield we should be going out to **** em up. That's what the kop expects, and is probably why, despite our good overall league from, there were boos at the end of at least one anfield bore draw that season.

Edit: it was the west ham game.

As you bickering with Arn can consume about 50 pages of this thread, you've got some cheek.

I've got four cheeks, but that has no relevance to this.

Our home record that season in the league......12 wins 7 draws 0 losses.

Goals scored 41 goals against 13.

His overall record at home during his six seasons.

          12...4....3..........31-15
          15...3....1..........32-8
          14...4....1..........39-7
          12...6....1..........43-13
          12...7....0..........41-13
          13...3....3..........43-15

          78..27...9...........229-71

I would say that is excellent statistic every day of the week.

Then if you look at the 2008-09 season and look at how many goals we scored from the 76 minute to the 90th minute then you will discover that we scored 35 goals home or away that season during those minutes.

Why did we score so many goals at the end of the games?

Probably because we had many hard workers on the pitch the first 60 minutes or so and then made attacking subs against a team our hard workers had worked down.

I would say that was excellent tactics and excellent planning.

It isn't that easy to score against a fully fit team at the start of a game. It is much easier to score when you worked the opposition down.

My main point is still that is very pointless to debate what players should and shouldn't started games because Rafa is a better manager than all of us.

It is very pointless to debate what tactics he should have used because he is a better manager than all of us.

Rafa is one of the best managers the last decade. I can't say the same about anyone on EST.

Rafa made mistakes but he made very few of them and you couldn't very often say that he made the same mistake twice. He learned his lessons very quickly.

Interesting. Is there a breakdown with just the PL?

Who knows if we would have won more games if we attacked teams more from minute one?

We may have conceded more instead and scored less?

If you play very attacking from minute one then you will also risk quick counter attacks against you from a fully fit team. They have the pace to hurt you at the start of the games.

You don't see Man U that often score a lot of goals in the first half, not even at home. They score a lot of goals the last 30 minutes or so against tired teams. You could very often see Fergie use quick players off the bench. Why is he doing that?

It isn't luck. It is a well calculated risk.

We had a lot of ball possession the 2008-09 season. What will the opposition had to do then? The answer is chase the ball and after an hour or so they get tired and start to make mistakes.

43 points at home isnt enough to win the title and only winning 12 of 19 home games is poor for a club contending for the title.
