The thing with Hodgson's poor buys was every man & his dog could see they wouldn't have been good enough. ****e players bought wont become good all of a sudden.

Rafa's poor buys, and there was many of them. Were simply just players that didn't work out. Some have went on to play well again in other leagues, unlike Poulsen who's gone off to bottle water & the Konch who's dropped into the championship. Dossena, Keane, Babel, Aquilani & his numerous free transfers, could have been decent players.

We just need Truefan back in this thread and the Travelodge reunion will be complete.
      Oh I don't know.

Haha! I'm still unsure of whether I want him to get that or not. On one hand him being booed by 90k people as England draw 0-0 at home to San Marino would be incredible and the humiliation and hounding when he's sacked would be amazing.

But, even in ****ing it up he'd boast about how great it was to have the job and it wasnt his fault. Plus he'd make more millions for yet another sacking.

I'm dreading playing them, our loss there last season was sickening. If we destroy his mob it'll be ****ing wonderful. I have nothing against West Brom - I just despise that bloke.

That one was just odd. Not that its unheard of to spend a couple of million on a slightly random reserve keeper who never plays (pretty sure Rafa did that, and KD has too with Doni), but Brad Jones somehow just seemed weirder. Probably because everyone knew he was really quite ****.
I wonder if the club is taking his situation with his son into any decision regarding his future, I think he was diagnosed with leucemia (sp?) soon after Jones signed.
              * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

He wasted a fair amount of money, not sure it was obscene though. I think Joe Cole was a relatively acceptable risk (huge wages but most people were quite happy with his signing at the time), and Meireles wasn't a bad buy (we even made a slight bit on him). The big errors were the Konk and Poulson, neither of whom was ever going to be even remotely good enough, and who cost us about £7m in a season (we actually got a bit of money back from Forest for Konk, somehow).

Poor, but plenty of managers have made mistakes that cost clubs that much through transfer mistakes. It was everything else that came with the Bodge that really marked him out as our worst manager in living memory.
However the comparison may look, I dont think it is valid due to the ability of the managers. The Bodge could have signed a 24 year old Zidane, Alonso, Iniesta for 750K and we would still have been **** over the course of a PL campaign as quite simply he does not have the ability to coach and manage a team with actual aspirations. Imagine Zidane, Alonso, Iniesta camped in front of our penalty box constantly hoofing the ball for David Villa to chase. It will still be ****. With Rafa, I dont think any reasonable person can question that aspect of him. However their comparison might look from the perspective of transfers, in the end it really does not matter right.

I think the highlighted part is very very true.

                      And rightly so.

It would have been even more of a mess had he done so.

Thought there had to have been a reason for their silence. Smart move by Rafa I think. Would have distracted things far too much.

And all the grief Gerrard has taken on here for not speaking out! Hopefully the slander stops now but I doubt it.

Gerrard has made this up now that Rafa is no longer at the club. Rafa cares too much about LFC to expose Gerrard's lies....
