I realise the doubters will say bringing KD back didn't work out, but I really think these are 2 quite different situations.

Would absolutely love to see him back:

* Knows the club inside out and would hit the ground running
* Has proven he can be successful on a modest budget
* Already has transfer targets in mind for his next job
* Would require no compensation payout
* Would have the backing of the majority of the fan base
* Surely has by far the best CV of any of the realistic candidates
* Loves the club - he just gets it

Question marks over
* His ability to work with a director of football
* The media would have a field day at our expense
* Some fans wouldn't be happy - although same can be said of whoever is appointed

At the very least, he deserves the chance to speak to FSG about the role. I'd be over the moon to seem him back, I really would.

2012 has been kind to me so far, my best year since 2005. This would be the icing for me.

Good points well made. They must at least speak to him.

I posted yesterday but it got lost in the crossfire, but remember Werner and Henry did a live phone in for LFC.tv I am sure they were asked about Rafa then..? I am sure they spoke favourably about him...?

They couldn't not speak favourably though could they? They were trying to win the hearts and minds of LFC fans, and they knew how popular he was. I remember them being politically correct.

I'd be totally stoked if he came back. I felt he left too early, he must be bursting to prove the doubters wrong...

Popped to the pub after work to have a chat with the landlord and landlady about Kenny going as they're massive LFC fans.

They said that they don't want Rafa back and he deserved to be sacked.

They followed that up by saying that Hodgson wasn't given enough time with us.

I know a few like that. It defies belief doesn't it. I've also ranted at a few of them and the response is usually "well, when you put it like that..."
