He's right about the most expensive thing but it's a bit misleading really as much of the Spanish squad (Iniesta, Xavi, Casillas etc) have never moved and would all fetch crazy money.

Great to see someone tell it like it is though. England aren't all that but bar Spain and Germany there aren't any great sides out there so the semis is a perfectly reasonable expectation. Yet the entire nation has been brainwashed by Hodgson and his expectation management BS.

ON the radio the other day...

''It's unbelievable what we have achieved ( The same as Greece and ****ing Czechs) when you consider where we were six weeks ago''.

Unbelievable??? Six weeks ago they were the 4th highest ranked team in Europe, just like they are now.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think he has been one of the better writers about the Euros his most recent piece is also pretty interesting:

Sounds like six weeks ago a bunch of guys who have never played got together and decided to play in the EC.

                        Apparently it's fallen through.

Both Rafa and Sampdoria have walked away "with regrets"

                        Hmm.

In all fairness I think Rafa's next job is going to probably be the biggest test of his career. Seems people only remember his time with Inter and how he 'destroyed a CL winning team in a few months etc'.

People seem to forget that this is a guy who has won two La Liga's and a CL.

I hope he chooses the right place and does well.

Hopefully he'll get a job with a good team in La Liga. Couldn't stomach him managing anyone else in England.
