Some would argue that he pioneered that kind of pressing game.Originally posted by colin85 View PostIsn't it more down to Barcelona and their style of play, which has been mirrored in this Spanish side that has helped them be so successful.
I know.
Loved/love Rafa but the lengths some of his fan boys go to to paint him as just about as good as it gets as far as coaches go verges on the ridiculous far too often.

In Rafa's Q&A on The Independent site, he seems to be agreeing with Bronto's comment about the impact of the weather on the different styles of Spanish and English football.
Rafa out. Obviously..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

IIRC it was something that Vialli and Marcotti suggested ages ago. They had/have a theory that training in wet/windy conditions prevents close control drills working well. They also criticised the open field setup at Melwood as instigated by Houllier.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostIn Rafa's Q&A on The Independent site, he seems to be agreeing with Bronto's comment about the impact of the weather on the different styles of Spanish and English football.

There's an opening in Portland, Oregon. He'd be more than welcome here.

IIRC it originated (even further back) with Capello after he'd watched or been involved with a training session in Scotland.
