Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He had a column in yesterday's Independent. Nothing mindblowingly interesting but still much better than the usual ****e from Redknapp et al

Benitez to Samp. Decisive meeting Monday.

GENOA - The former Inter coach Rafa Benitez as coach of Sampdoria? One hypothesis, advanced yesterday in the night by some specialized sites, which is not confirmed by the company but Sampdoria find some confirmation in the visit of the technical Lambruschini Court, home of Sampdoria, on Monday. However, those negotiations, which went the way of Pochettino, which is based up hiring the coach. The full-bench, however, could be completed between now and Monday

Surely he won't go back to Italy. His family hated it.

I know, but I hope it's true, then at least he wont be working in the prem.

Rafa Benitez's agent has played down reports linking his client with a move to Sampdoria, with it his desire to find a new job in England.

The Spaniard has been out of work since being sacked by Inter Milan in December 2010.

He has been touted as a contender to fill various coaching positions since leaving the Serie A outfit, but is yet to return to the dugout.

Speculation in Italy has suggested that he could be lured into a post at Sampdoria, with the Genoa-based club readying themselves for life back in the top flight.

His agent has been quick to rubbish the rumours, though, with it Benitez's intention to work in England.

The former Liverpool boss has been mentioned as possible successor to Harry Redknapp at Tottenham, and a Premier League post would hold greater appeal to him.

"There is nothing with Sampdoria," Manuel Garcia Quilon told tuttomercatoweb.com.

"I can 100 per cent confirm that there is no chance (of him going to Sampdoria).

"Where is he now? He is in England and it is his intention to stay there and coach in the Premier League.

"Tottenham? I repeat, he wants to remain in England."

So far, 7 Premier League vacancies have been/are available. Tottenham is the only realistic one for him at the moment. If that goes, then who else would take him here?

I think he'll go to Spurs.

                            Today's headline:

Rafael Benitez: I'm a big Rooney fan... but I couldn't say it at Liverpool!

                            http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/f...l-7858785.html
That should cost him a fair bit of support here.
