It's obviously really jarring for most of us to see Rafa managing Chelsea, just as it is for many neutrals for whom the appointment just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. But I think pining for Rafa and wishing he was our manager instead of Rodgers won't do anybody any favours and is a bit counterproductive and disrespectful.

For all intents and purposes, we as a club needed a brand new start and that's what we got. The fact that Rafa has gone to Chelsea should not impact the way in which we support our own gaffer simply because of what's gone on in the past. Brendan Rodgers and Rafa Benitez are two completely different managers and should be treated as entirely separate entities in our mental and emotional collective as fans.

One good thing that will come out of this is Rafa will prove himself a great manager to FSG and if Brendan is still struggling, Rafa will be back in the dugout at Anfield next season. I can see Chavs getting turned down by Guardiola.

Well, this is the window to show yanks who he is so he can replace Rodgers at the end of the season. Rodgers will take over Real Madrid.

And the hacks said we didn't give Hodgson a chance... Rafa hasn't even had a game.

There is no way this will work out, he won't last into the new year.

              Just seen this

I'm glad Rafa has got another job, but with them
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                    Nothing, besides the slight cringyness.

Just don't believe Rafa should have been sacked at all.

And i pine for Rafa every few weeks anyway, just premature now.

I think he's going to find this very difficult, he's a micro manager and dealing with some of the players there who've been given so much power and control since Mourinho's time is I fear going to be a step too far.

Seems at CFC the players make and break managers and this could be Inter Milan all over again for him

Possibly one of the only times that LFC and CFC fans are disappointed over the same decision!

Chelsea are truly a ****ing joke and Rafa is already a dead man walking. The fans hate him and he's keeping the seat warm for Guardiola.

As we have seen with Di Matteo, he could win any trophy going and still get binned.

Maybe roman thought RDM was lead by the players too much and has put rafa in to tackle terry etc. Then again, that's supposedly what AVB was supposed to supposed doing and he got sacked too.

Rodgers will be manager next year. Lets stop this backhanded sniping at our manager.

So are we still going to be watching Rafa?

I love him but I really hope he bombs. Those fans of theirs currently having aneurysms over him joining don't deserve him or any success he may bring.
