Ignoring our bias towards him (hard I know) How do people think he will be viewed after this Chelsea job. He has actually surprised me how well he has done considering. A FA Cup Semi final, Europa League final and a potential 3rd place finish. He basically could not have done better even if he wanted too.
Think he will come out of this with his reputation significantly enhanced, and will have alerted a few European heavyweights of his skills again.
Mind you, it could all come crashing down for him in the next 3 weeks.*Except Michael, who died.

It would have taken more than Rafa to get our side to 4th.Originally posted by Bender View PostI think Rafa could have gotten our current team into 4th spot this season .....and he is definitley waiting to come back to Anfield

I think it is hard to judge, Chelsea have 3 good attackers in hazard, Oscar and mata, but they are all young and two are new to the league. The defence needs work and they need a dm and a striker.Originally posted by G View PostWe'll all think he's done a good job. Everybody else will think he's managed the bare minimum required with the set of players at his disposal.
Any chance of a fair assessment on Rafa within the English game disappeared years ago.

Impossible to say really. All we can say is that the key players in the squad already know his system.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostIt would have taken more than Rafa to get our side to 4th.Stop the cyberhate

Doesn't matter because our squad just isn't that good.Originally posted by Arn View PostImpossible to say really. All we can say is that the key players in the squad already know his system.

It isn't as good now yes but who knows how strong it would have been if Rafa had built the squad.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostDoesn't matter because our squad just isn't that good.
I doubt that he would have bought Allen and Borini for example.Stop the cyberhate

Both of whom have been injured pretty much all season so making any sort of judgment on them is at best idiotic.Originally posted by Arn View PostIt isn't as good now yes but who knows how strong it would have been if Rafa had built the squad.

What you have is worthless speculation and a dislike of Brendan purely for not being Rafa.

Of course he wouldn't have signed them , he might of signed Barry and keane.Originally posted by Arn View PostIt isn't as good now yes but who knows how strong it would have been if Rafa had built the squad.

He's done a decent / good job.Originally posted by Alex View PostIgnoring our bias towards him (hard I know) How do people think he will be viewed after this Chelsea job. I think they should've won the World Club Championship and beaten Swansea over two legs in the League Cup.
But towards the end of the season he's rotated well, he's phasing out Terry and Lampard (which should've been done ages ago), they're in the final of the Europa League and they should finish third.
Problem Chelsea have is that they have no reliable striker. Done the sensible thing with moving Luiz into the holding role and Ivanovic into the middle.
So yeah. Could've done better and could've done worse.
Also - does anyone else here think that he's not massively keen on Hazard?

Who knows and that is my point. You can't look at the squad we have now and say that Rafa wouldn't got us into the top four because the squad would have been built in a different way and we would have played a different system.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostOf course he wouldn't have signed them , he might of signed Barry and keane.Stop the cyberhate

And we'd still not have had a scouting dept and a lot of players not possessing enough quality.Originally posted by Arn View PostWho knows and that is my point. How about actually supporting our manager?
