I lied earlier to be honest. Story is that me and my girlfriend were on a coach trip from our cruise ship to Vesuvius. My story is 100% true. The first and only time I've seen anyone shooting up. It was quite shocking.

I saw someone shooting up behind a bin just down from the city centre train station in Amsterdam. It was my first 10 minutes there. I was properly shocked - it was out in the open. Craziness.

I've always imagined that junkies in Italy might have a certain elan. In Dublin they're totally pathetic but funny creatures. They're always wearing hats related to some event that's on in the city. Last year when the tall ships were here, they were all going around town wearing white ship's captain hats. I saw two guys getting off the Luas - free junkie tram - one wearing a captains hat and the other guy had gotten a ****in sombrero from somewhere! I also saw one junkie injecting another in his arse (cheek not ringpiece) while I was with a load of students on a bus - there was mayhem. Brilliant though.
