They won't bring him back. But it bugs me, because i think that under new sensible rules and owners, that he could talk to, who would take an interest, invest within reason and come over more often interacting with the people at the club, and with an agreement that they are all together for the good of LFC and the fans......that it could have worked.
I just have this feeling..that Rafa's love and passion for football, and winning for lfc, would have been something JH liked...a true work ethic backed by a love for a club and a will to win for the fans.Last edited by Vermilion; 18-12-10, 11:02 PM.

Inter Milan manager Rafael Benitez has essentially issued an ultimatum after they won the Club World Cup on Saturday, telling the club to support him, or terminate his contract.
Benitez has been the subject of criticism in recent weeks for Inter's slow start in Serie A and was told by club owner Massimo Moratti that he had to win the Club World Cup title in Abu Dhabi.
Now, after he made good on that requirement, beating African side TP Mazembe 3-0 in the final, he has told Moratti and others at the club to show him support if he wants to see more trophies at the club.
"There are three possibilities (for the club)," he told reporters. "One, 100% support for the coach and buy four or five players - to build a stronger team with competition among the players to be able to carry on winning matches and trophies.
"Two, carry on like this without a project, without planning and go ahead with one person to blame, for the whole season getting to May this way.
"The third is to speak to my agent, reach an agreement if there is not this support. Simple."

It was said Rafa Benitez would be fired if he didn’t win the Club World Cup, so he has a message for the club. “Now I need support.”
Inter thumped Mazembe 3-0 to become world champions today and appear to have made his job safe.
“I am very happy and want to dedicate this victory to all the people who worked with us and had faith in us,” he told Mediaset Premium.
“Clearly I need to talk to President Massimo Moratti and director Marco Branca. Now I need support and if that exists, then we can do well together.”
When asked what exactly he meant by ‘support,’ Benitez explained his position.
“I spoke to Moratti with regards to the transfer market and he knows what it’s about. Plus in the past I heard a lot of criticism and in a polite way I pointed them out.
“If Inter want me as their Coach, then they must allow me to control everything that happens within the squad. Support has to be from start to finish, 100 per cent. Otherwise, you don’t win.
“This team is still not physically sharp. We did what we had to today, training every day and from now on it will be easier to play well and win.”
Benitez raised eyebrows when he left Dejan Stankovic on the bench to begin with.
“We knew there were some very tired players. Stankovic worked very hard on Wednesday, while Douglas Maicon, Goran Pandev, Thiago Motta and Diego Milito were tired after injury lay-offs. I had to make a choice and it was him.”
Sound familiar....?

"Within the squad", to me that's how it should be, a manager manages the squad.
Not players, not owners or directors of football, the manager is responsible for results, he lives and dies by them, so it should be he that determines who plays, who stays, and who go's, a set budget given by the club, peoples words given and kept.Last edited by Vermilion; 19-12-10, 12:01 AM.
