He's ordinary. Good technique, good link up play, but no outstanding pace or power. Just not a threat to the opposition. If I'm the manager of the other team, Aspas doesn't worry me at all. He's a superior player to Borini though.

Not for me he isn't, I'd take Borini every day of the week. I know it's early but it looks there's a very good reason why Aspas has only played one season in the top flight at 26 years of age, he isn't very good

Not great so far but it's way too early to judge. Seen some moments of promise and as you both say, once he settles in and gets his first goal I'm sure he'll be fine.

Plus he's played in some tough games. We're really struggling to recapture our performances of last season (especially the last few months of it), and he's come on twice (I think) during second halfs where we're struggling.

That's my main worry right now. Since the season has started we've been very leggy during the last 45 minutes.

i thought the opposite. looked to be second guessing himself and wondering whether or not he should get involved rather than doing anything useful, not rushing around like someone with something to prove.

Aspas didn't drop off into the spaces behind Sturridge when needed. Gerrard and Lucas needed a link man, but he didn't make the move, so Swansea ended up with possession. Enrique and Henderson tried to provide width, but they had no one to pass to in the middle.

Only one more game until we have Suarez back now though which will add another dimension to the side.

Aspas for me when he returns will be a bench player for us which might suit and allow him to get up to speed by coming on when a game is already in the bag as so far its clear he needs time to see if he can adjust to the league
