Lallana's problem is he has that attitude of look at me how 2 footed I am. I can do a fancy wee turn and impress you all. Sometimes it's great but he needs to just get his head up and find a key pass quicker and stop sucking the life out of our forward momentum.

I think Klopp may move on some surprisingly good players . Not because he doesn't rate them but just because they don't fit into his overall vision. Not one player is safe in my opinion.

I don't believe he showboats; I think he uses his ability on the ball to make up for a lack of pace. He's not going to beat a man by gliding past but more by turning him inside out with his quick feet. Granted, it's not been a consistent success but as others have said, he's a worthy squad player.

Even as a first team player he's not out of his depth and we can't have a team of eleven superstars. Look at Coutinho and Firmino recently: absolutely fantastic players on their day but their recent form has been erratic. Lallana's pretty consistent in turning out above average performances with the odd outstanding one but he very rarely throws in an absolute dog****e one.

If we do sign Gotze and Lallana's graft frees Gotze to work his magic than he's worthy of that first team spot.

I agree & don't expect him to leave nor would I want him to. Yes I'd like us to strengthen with Goetze coming in but we need a strong squad not just a strong starting X1.

thought he was great today. really suited the system and supported the front 3 well.

                  I agree.

And still can't believe that people are still trying to peddle the myth that Lallana isn't good.

He was everywhere. Didn't give them a moments rest, and actually looked a lot quicker than usual.

He was excellent yesterday. Hopefully it clicks in front of goal for him this year as there is no reason he shouldn't be scoring 10+ goals per season.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

He is a good player, but it's his lack of goals that are the problem. With the system that we play we are looking for the front 4 to be regularly scoring goals, personally I don't think any of Lallana, Coutinho and Firmino got as many goals as they should last year, but while Coutinho and Firmino are happy to have shots and try things and miss chances, Lallana seems fairly shot-shy, and that is something that he needs to address.

I think that that could be even more important for him this year with increased competition for places
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That's exactly what Klopp should be asking of Lallana this season. Such is the competition for players that double digits from somebody of Lallana's calibre shouldn't be far from attainable. That said, his impressive work rate and tenacity (as shown last night) is almost perfect for Klopp's want to regain possession high up the pitch and you can almost forgive his lack of potency in front of goal if he's featured high on the assists chart.

You've nailed it with 'shot-shy'. The amount of times Lallana has been inside the 18 yard box and has gone for one pass too many must be around the 54 mark. He's so capable on either foot that it's not as if he's passing up a shooting opportunity because it's on his wrong side. It was the same yesterday: whilst it led to our first goal, the vast majority of players in his position would have gone for goal and not the nutmegged assist.

If our players are on the same wave-length as Lallana, he'll bag a hell of a lot of assists this season. But I agree, he needs to add a number of goals too.

I don't care if he scores 0 goals if he has 15 assists or so.
