He spends half his time shoved out wide though as they are penned in their own half so it's pointless judging him off stats. And not to mention he's younger than Raheem Sterling.

Watched him last night, he does some brilliant stuff and has a unique advantage in being good with both feet. Just dont let him take penalties!

For those of you keeping score - that's a full house. Every thread in the football forum is now full of miserable sods bemoaning everything, even the one about one of the best young prospects at centre forward in Europe, who we happen to have secured.

He could probably do with a better loan than Lille to be honest, even next season but we are in such a dire situation its difficult! Even Markovic could probably use a move away to get some first team football at a decent level, we have so many young inexperienced players.

Not sure Markovic needs a loan. He is pretty experienced. Won a few league titles, played the Europa League, maybe CL too. Moreno has a lot of league football behind him aswell, EL winner. They have come with quite a promising reputation.

They need to be playing and given regular runs in the first team here. Dont think 20m was forked in Markovic's case in the belief that he needed to go on loan somewhere

I remember reading back in the summer that Chelsea didn't take up their option on Markovic because they felt he wasn't ready to make the step up yet.

I just find it strange he hasn't managed to get more minutes in a team severely struggling to create anything going forwards.

I guess I just don't see how we're helping his development, he's had very little game time. We've played 4231 which I'd have thought would suit him but if we revert back to 2 up top when Sturridge comes back we don't actually have a place for him at all.

Yep. Certainly highly rated when we got him. Just think we have too many players in his position. Has to be given regular game time to have a chance of making it here. As do Can and Moreno who are also similary rated

Rodgers went from bold to bland and wanted experienced players in who he thinks he can trust. In the main it's worked in that we're five unbeaten, by the same token it's failed as it was also designed to grind out wins and when it didn't work against Sunderland maybe he should've had a rethink in how to take on the Basle game.

I'm convinced that Lucas, Can and Henderson is our best 3. But then I work for a council so what the **** do I know... Well I know more than Brendan does but that's not really the point I'm trying to make

I think it's the front three that offer the biggest issues tbh. We just can't find the right blend.

Gerrard, Lallana, Coutinho, Markovic, Sterling, lambert, Balotelli, Borini. Trying to find three from that lot isn't easy.
