Let's say BORINI left and he came in. Even if he didn't kick on immediately, it's no loss. Plus it's six months of settling in time. Makes sense. With regards getting a top striker in, I think we have to see how it plays out with Mario first. He doesn't suit the lone attacker role, but I'm not sure Rodgers wants to go that way.

Mario has just got two dogs from a rescue centre, so he's clearly not going anywhere soon.
    Forwards.......

I don't disagree mate. And by the way I'm a Mario fan so I'll be more than happy if he stays.

Probably better to spend £3m to get him back early than spending 20m on another striker.

He doesn't look ready though but maybe 6 months at the club will see him in better condition for next season.

From all reports, it looks like his time at Lille is not going well for his development. Given that it appears he would not develop much from his loan experience, it makes sense to bring him here and get settled. It would also give Sterling a much needed rest.

He's playing in a **** lille team and he has the attributes we need right now. He'll get way more chances to score in our team too. Plus he's ours, get him in for the 6 months then take stock of our forward options in the summer.

My probably is the pressure he will be under as a 19 year old if he doesn't hit it off. Wouldn't it make more sense for him to finish his development in France even if his scoring record isn't great over there.

I was against it not so long ago, but now I wouldn't mind us bringing him in. If reports are true, he's keen to move now, and it's only £3m.

Its stupid to write off young players from abroad if they don't hit the ground running. I cant remember too many 19 / 20 year olds coming into this league and establishing themselves straight away.

If he doesn't perform for the first season then we just have to accept that. Personally, I dont expect too much from this lad just like my initial expectations of markovic, Moreno, manqillo and Can are also low.

The fees are a problem because if you pay big money for a player young or not you expect immediate results but it doesn't work like that with young players.

That wasn't aimed at you mate but I totally agree with your post. However we the fans shouldn't be putting pressure on these young lads.

He's pretty much a regular for Lille though and whilst he may not be scoring of late the fact that he is getting plenty of minutes is helping his game develop. Origi's not going to be a regular for us in the second half of the season imo so I just feel it's better for him to stay in France.

If we're bringing him in someone has to be going out IMO.

Exactly, whilst I can see the logic if Lille aint helping him develop, it's no solution to our striking problems.
                              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Thank god for that, their style of play is a ****ing joke. He's got the attributes to contribute right now. Look at the first 15 seconds of this, that run to open the game up is what Mario or Lambo just cant do. His production will improve over time, but we badly need another player with his sort of style.
