Would have loved us to sign David Villa on loan, he could have done a half decent job for us IMO. What about the likes of Mario Gomes, Giuseppe Rossi?

Considering injuries/age, do you think any of them are capable of playing with the intensity and pace that Rodgers is looking for in our current system?

As I said previously, we can bring in any proven goal scorer, but are they going to do any better than Lambert who also was a proven PL goalscorer, but just not suited to our style of play?

Origi's record for Lille is about 1 in 7, so I don't know if we can expect him to start scoring for fun in Jan. We need a top striker as a priority and not a hopeful. If that means waiting until the summer to get the right one and loaning someone like Defoe until then then maybe it's for the best, this season's pretty much a write off anyway. That assumes that we'll get our man in the summer which is a big assumption.

BT Sport saying that he was originally part of the Lille match day squad for their game tonight but that he didn't make the team on the pitch nor the subs bench so effectively they are a man short.
