TBF I don't suppose BR thought Sturridge would get completely ****ed for 4 months. And even if he did, he could not account for how utterly ****e the back-up has been. Without Sturridge we basically have no other attackers right now worthy of the shirt IMO.

No but we were all screaming about the need for a top striker towards the end of the window. There was always the risk Sturridge would miss games.

In fairness it seems we did try for the likes of Benzema, Higuain and Cavani etc. but none of them wanted to come.

I'd have another crack at Higuain now. They're not in the Champions League and I think he'd be keen to join. I'd imagine Napoli will be a nightmare to deal with though.

Not really, just because he bought them he was not to know how crap they would turn out was he?
