Maybe, but he wouldn't be happy if he was only getting the amount of time Solanke has been getting.Originally posted by Reece View PostI reckon he'd have scored at least one goal for us by now this season given the same amount of time on the pitch that Solanke has had....
Still relatively early days but the loan move doesn't look to have worked out as we were hoping. Presumably the thought was get him playing regularly and scoring a lot of goals build his confidence, get him to the WC and bring him back ready to be considered in contention for a starting place. From what I have seen so far it looks to have worked out like most of our loans - a step backwards and not really looking like a worthwhile exercise other than getting him off the wage bill for a year
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

True but we’d be right in expecting more from Divi though. I think Solanke has a slightly bigger threshold & deserves a go to prove himself. And he should have had a goal last start.Originally posted by Reece View PostI reckon he'd have scored at least one goal for us by now this season given the same amount of time on the pitch that Solanke has had....
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I don't think bringing him back, or any of the others, is really the plan. Not finding a buyer and wanting to save wages and have them playing to attract bids was the idea imo.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostMaybe, but he wouldn't be happy if he was only getting the amount of time Solanke has been getting.

I can't see him bringing us much more than a decent profit tbh.Originally posted by SB View PostTrue but we’d be right in expecting more from Divi though. I think Solanke has a slightly bigger threshold & deserves a go to prove himself. And he should have had a goal last start.

He was quite prolific in the summer competition ( whatever it was called) & yeah you could be right or Klopp could weave his magic again & Barca could be tapping him up in a few seasons.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI can't see him bringing us much more than a decent profit tbh.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Not sure about the others but Origi was someone who was fairly heavily involved last year, I read the lack of game time might hinder his WC chances and that and hoping for him to develop elsewhere was the reason for the move (all speculation obviously) but he seemed like a potential replacement for Sturridge. Obviously that changes if we look at other forwards.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostI don't think bringing him back, or any of the others, is really the plan. In terms of increasing value any profit we make will likely be due to the raise in value of the market rather than an improvement in the player personally (since last season). If we are looking to sell our best hope IMO is that he has a good world cup.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
