Hope he gets some minutes. Loved his run and cross in the game. Could be just what we need when resting Bobby. Sturridge is not suitable cover for a whole game.

watching it back, he was the only one to follow the ball in, got close enough to pickford to give him something to think about and knock his concentration, then readjust when it hit the crossbar the second time

I assume Origi is ahead of him as it's only a couple of weeks since Solanke scored that backheal chip for England U21s, I don't think he's got injured since then

He picked up a groin problem in training which is why he didn't travel to Paris.

centrally I reckon Solanke is ahead of him, but Origi being able to cover the flanks gives him the edge to make the bench more often.

Firmino, Sturridge, Solanke, Origi is probably the biggest weakness in the squad especially with Bobbys form.

Talk of leaving a pathway for Brewster/Wilson, cant see anyone coming in above them.

I think ahead of next season I'd dispense with Sturridge, Solanke and Origi, and go for a quality CF who makes runs in behind. Would push Bobby on and offer a tactical alternative whilst leaving the door still open for younger players who actually have a chance of making it with us.

Andreas Belotti and Timo Werner are the only two strikers that come to mind. David Brooks looks like he could step up.
