It must be frustrating for him.
Pre his injury last year he was in dynamite form, playing in all our big games and scoring goals. He's not had the chances, nor has he managed to play to the same standards.
That said he went on a 5 games in a row scoring run towards the end of last year which again indicated his potential...Modifying post.

There's definite potential there alright....don't think anyone would suggest otherwise, but he has look laboured over the last few months, and the ball just isn't falling for him when he gets his opportunity.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIt must be frustrating for him.

Might even become more limited for him if a big striking option is brought in the possibly replace Sturridge.
He's still very young, but also at the point where he will want to establish himself to fulfill said potential......hopefully that's here."I will make the boys feel your support"

He's 21 years old... This is bloody madness the way we write players off. Same story with people saying we should sell Can. Have some patience with the guys who are still developing.Originally posted by Bender View Postdon't think he'll be anything but a squad player at LFC.....so if he want's first team football he'll have to go elsewhere like the french league.....96 Never Forgotten

That is when many startOriginally posted by Charly View PostYeah, mentioned Carragher on another thread, but there were times when hecwas accused of being too one dimensional, or limited... turned out to be a mighty centreback though. Players dont stop developing at 21 👍Those that hid Anne Frank were breaking the law.
Those that killed her, were following the law.

We have such short memories. I think most of us were a bit underwhelmed before the 15/16 season yet he was a monster that season. The injury against Everton was clearly still hampering him at the beginning of this season and he has overall taken a bit of step back. But after the huge step forward the year before, net net he is progressing well and with an injury-free pre-season will I bet push on again next season. Especially next season as the team will need to develop greater variety of attack.Originally posted by BG1973 View PostHe has all the tools but isn't getting a chance to use them.
I'd be frustrated too but that's par for the course for centre forwards these days. Only one ever plays..

The frustrating thing with Origi is that he's such a confidence player; he has everything to be a top class striker - tall, strong, quick, good in the air, decent finishing - but doesn't believe in himself. People can argue that he should be played more but he's done next to nothing when coming on as a substitute in the last few months. He can't expect to play so poorly and still get starts in big games - he needs to prove he's good enough every time he plays, sub or not, to replace Coutinho, Firmino or Mane. He hasn't done that. It's up to him to turn things around when given the chance.

TBF, he played well in the previous two games, setting up Gini for his two goals and getting the assist for Can's against Burnley. He was unfortunate to be dropped for City and I think against a lesser team, Klopp may have gave Firmino more time off.Originally posted by Mike View PostThe frustrating thing with Origi is that he's such a confidence player; he has everything to be a top class striker - tall, strong, quick, good in the air, decent finishing - but doesn't believe in himself. Likewise when Coutinho got injured earlier in the season, Origi came in and scored in 5 consecutive games, was hooked early against Stoke when he wasn't at his best and again it was City next he was dropped for which could arguably be deemed harsh again. I definitely think that dented his confidence massively and he didn't really look the same until those few games recently I mentioned. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
