Sturridge and Solanke would be our two main proper CFs, not great but adding Origi into the list doesn't improve it much. Same with Ings.

Anyway, Origi isn't crap, he's done alright when called on but you can kind of tell that there probably isn't much more to come. Probably not going to be the talent people thought he might be two or three years ago.

I recall comparing him to Henry back then. You are right, he was playing brilliantly back then pre that tackle.

I think that he's a decent player, he's still young and IMO the stick he gets is unjustified, yes we hoped that he would have pushed on more but there is still time, it's about opportunities now though, Firmino is first choice, Sturridge second when fit and it's between him, Solanke and Ings to fight for the 3rd place, I know many have Solanke ahead and I would say that is based on form in preseason, so can easily change. I don't think selling Origi makes sense, particularly given that we seem to only monitor players rather than buy them, a big bank balance and small squad is of no benefit.

With our current striking options as it is now it's hard to see him getting much playing time at present but we had 2 strikers out injured for most of last season & more matches to play this season all going well. So I'd keep him til Xmas & assess our situation again then.

When Sturridge gets injured and we need someone on the bench or for a league cup game after a champions league and league game origi will be needed.

Think he should have went out last year and do this year, even if until christmas at first, hes not someone who comes off the bench and gives a flying 20 mins, he needs consistent time and hes not getting it, give him to a decent counter attacking European team and see where we are in Jan

It's easy to say that he is behind Firmino, Sturridge and possibly Solanke for the central role, but with little cover for the wide areas he isn't that far out of the side particularly if we are wanting to replace pace with pace.
