I definitely think our owners are the problem here and Klopp is covering for them. Nobody of sound mind would sell their best player in our situation without a plan for replacements. FsG are happy with slow progress and despite the calamities that's the situation we are in.
On a different note. Klopps decision to play mad Albert and Mig tonight was the wrong move.

Playing Moreno, Mig, TAA was absolutely the right move. It's the FA Cup, it means jack **** in the scheme of things these days and rotating for it is a no brainer. The problem is that the side with them included should have been good enough to beat West Brom at home, but we were ****e as a team, almost to a man. Same against Swansea, the players on the pitch should have won with ease.Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostI definitely think our owners are the problem here and Klopp is covering for them. Moreno may be relatively weak but he's not worse than Kieran Gibbs or Martin Olsson. Matip isn't a worse player than Craig Dawson or Van Der Hoorn. Our £75m CB didn't look very good tonight. I think we need to look off the pitch to find the root cause of our problems against weaker sides, and our inability to comfortably hold a lead when we have one. Dismissing player x or y as ****e doesn't really do it.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

We need to learn to win things. The FA cup was winnable. It's not Jack ****. Picking mig and Moreno and then face planting because of this puts pressure on Klopp that was absolutely avoidable. Lots went wrong tonight but those 2 should never feature again.

Yes, enough league games to win the league. The FA cup is ****, the final isn't an event anymore, it's not even the last match of the season. People don't tune in to watch the FA Cup final, they watch a football match if they care about the teams involved. If you're the best team in England you win the league, if you're not you might win the FA cup and some people might notice, even less will care. I give a **** if Utd win the league, couldn't give a **** if they win the FA Cup, it's not important anymore. We need top 4, resting players in the cup is sensible if it can help with that.Originally posted by Big-Red-Ed View PostWe need to learn to win things. The FA cup was winnable. It's not Jack ****. Last year looked so promising and then we got found out. Similar happening again?
Are the players knackered by the constant pressing?
Has moral been hit by the sale of Phil? Or by lack of a replacement? Are the players fed up of our **** keepers undoing all their hard work?
Or we win on Tuesday and we get back on track.
I like klopp but I've thought for a while he has the Wenger stubbornness more so than a Jose winning mentality. No ****ing way would I want Jose. No chance. It's just ridiculously infuriating to be so good attacking and to feel on the cusp of something before imploding in spectacular fashion. I honestly feel there is a curse at play that means we'll never win anything again.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I’m sure we’ve all felt like that at times.. I know I have.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostLast year looked so promising and then we got found out. Similar happening again?

It’s all about this summer - fail again and the owners are going to face a serious backlash.

The rotation point is valid but I would genuinely prefer to see Ward given a go ahead of Mignolet and maybe even play this new kid Gallacher ahead of Moreno. Trent I have no problem playing but the other 2 are always prone to mistakes (just like Lovren) the more of those players you have on the pitch the greater the chance you have of making mistakes.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostPlaying Moreno, Mig, TAA was absolutely the right move. They are just completely unsettling and it rubs off on other players. One thing that made me chuckle yesterday was Mignolet taking goalkicks. 3 or 4 times the centrehalves split the edge of the box and Can dropped deep. Mignolet rushed as if to take a quick one but then stuttered and ended up hesitating and then punted it down the pitch, Van Dijk was bollocking him which only accelerated Mignolets brainfart
The thing about comparing with other teams players. The back 4 was poor but individual mistakes also ran through that performance. West Brom players seem to do what's written on the tin, I just keep scratching my head and wondering why we bought a tin with "Cluster****" written on itBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Possibly. It takes a while to get players up to fitness but if they're not suited to pressing then they're more likely to get found out when they've tired.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostLast year looked so promising and then we got found out. Similar happening again?

Think there were some figures put up a month or two ago that showed we are not pressing as much this season, and that our combined km covered per game was lower than nine or ten of the teams in the league this season.
We also did not rank high for team sprints in the league this season, and from what I recall we had no player in the individual km covered or sprints made top tens.
Edit: found one of the links.
We were coming 11th at the time in terms of distance covered in the team rankings, and 7th in the sprints made.
We had no players in the top tens for distance covered and sprints made.

I listen to The AI podcasts and in particular the Under Pressure one, we did hold back earlier in the season but over the Xmas period the numbers were high with the City game surpassing so many records in distance covered, sprints, groups pressing, individual pressings and recoveries.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostThink there were some figures put up a month or two ago that showed we are not pressing as much this season, and that our combined km covered per game was lower than nine or ten of the teams in the league this season.

The thing is so many of our players are better in open games or where the opposition has a lot if the ball - that is why Can and Gini do so well in these big games as they are high intensity with lots of turn overs in possession and transitions. Klopp has bought to suit ‘that’ style.
In Germany even the ****e teams try to play so BVB would have battered them, his preferred style is nullified by many teams in England who are content to let us have the ball and defend deep. This is compounded now by selling our only player who can unlock these teams from deep.
We are progressing but we still have a lot to do.
