Anyway, I largely take your point, we're in a good position now and have an amazing manager so there's every chance we can pull off fourth or better this season. Little point in dwelling on the window for the rest of the season.
I largely take your point also. I suppose it is more when a big money signing doesn't work out and then the supporters use that stick to beat the manager with rather than the we didn't sign anyone stick. We all assume the perfect signing was available, but clearly it wasn't. I for one am glad we didn't get Sanchez - he seems like a complete prick.
I think the point I am circling is that we have some smart people in charge at the club. I suspect they know what they are doing. Something went on with the Phil transfer and we may never know what.
I've got faith in how things are going. We are really building something, getting stronger (overall) all the time.Modifying post.

Unfortunately, 4th place is considered a success.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostHmmmm - not sure Shankley references here are appropriate tbh.

Imagine if Rodgers had said that
Found this part interesting. Gives some perspective on this season.
Liverpool are currently on 50 points after 25 games of the season – exactly the same total they had at this stage of the campaign back in 2013/14 when they came close to winning the Premier League.
However, the difference back then was that in 2014, leaders Chelsea were just six points above them at the time while eventual champions Manchester City were four points above them.
This time around, runaway leaders City, who have just played their 26th game, are on 69 points.Another MASSIVE game

He’s clearly been asked what would Shankly make of the team though, so what is he supposed to say? It’s a loaded question.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostHmmmm - not sure Shankley references here are appropriate tbh.

Of any manager that has been at the club, I want him to succeed the most. Has his faults no doubts like every manager but he's such a cool guy you want him to be successful at our club and stay for a long period of time.
He's a guy football fans are proud to have at their club. Pure personality and has an aura about him. Just genuinely seems like a good guy.
Disclaimer: That won't stop me from being ****ed off at him for starting Alberto Moreno

If in 2018 we are still comparing ourselves to that era, then everything will look bad. It's different now and Klopp is correct to say what he has.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostHmmmm - not sure Shankley references here are appropriate tbh.

He's so much one of us that when I'm angry with him it's like I'm being angry with myself. One tit for another.

Mo Salah, world class, but not every day. Sadio Mane, world class, but not every day. Roberto Firmino, world class, pretty much every day.

Nah don't think he will be starting you today.
