    Great analogy dude.

Could have fooled me last night. At times it looked like the entire midfield had snuck off for a drink.

I wish we could still put out a midfield of Emre, Gini and Ox this season. Our front 3 would have more goals with them driving forward, pressing and creating errors for them to pounce on. And that’s not to even mention Phil.
        Totally agree

Oxlade has been a huge loss this season.

I'd be delighted if he could get fit and back into the squad before the end of the season - and join in celebrations come May!!!

And next season, if he is fit and raring to go - then hopefully he can supplement an up-to-speed pairing of Keita and Fabinho too. Our squad will be ****in something then

An 18mth lay off is a huge chunk of someone's career. I'd love him to come back strong but my head is telling me not to get too excited about it.

Yeah, the odds of him being the same player when he comes back aren't in his favour, unfortunately.

I don't know. I think he is the type of person who's attitude will go a long way. Also, he will be coming back into a team and manager that will give him time to come back as the best player possible.

I do wonder was Lallana on the endangered species list at LFC though - and only remained because Oxo was injured - and Fekir deal fell through.

I think Lallana will be sold on, very talented guy but slows things down too much and is always injured.

That forward drive from Ox is exactly what we need and we seem to be having trouble linking the midfield to the forward line, there is an obvious disconnect there. To be honest I did think Keita would have provided this for us but so far that is not the case.

Fortunately results wise we are doing excellent and our defence really is our saving grace. It is good to see us grinding some results out especially with these stupid international games. I dont think we have even touched the levels we can get to but at the same time we havent really been troubled that much this season either. You would like to think it's only a matter of time though.

But as regards that missing link in the midfield... I wouldn't be surprised if we address it in January.

His attitude will get him back playing again and Klopp will give him all the support and time he needs.

It's just that statistically, most athletes who suffer the same injury don't fully recover the strength they had in the knee before. Obviously with the way Ox plays, that would be a huge blow to his game. B

ut he is freakishly strong and determined as you say, so hopefully he'll be one of the lucky ones.

I think after working with the same fella for so many years, it's fair to say he's probably missing Buvac. Has to be. I'm sure given time he will find the answer but when the number 2 is known as the brain, it's a slight concern we're missing his vital input. Possibly from an attacking viewpoint.

Too much rotation so early into the season?

A lot of the changes have been enforced.

I do think there's seemingly a general plan to prevent us burning out later in the season though. We aren't pressing as aggressively for example.

I think given it's off the back of a World Cup it's an understandable approach but I think if we had more of a settled midfield for example we'd be more likely to "click" like we did around this time last season.

I was quite surprised to hear that we had scored 21 goals at this stage last season as well. We are winning ugly at the moment really need to step it up.

agree with all this. I get that it's after a world cup summer and it's to prevent burn out in the second half of the season but yeah we do to pick a spine and stick with it..... as does any team I suppose to have cohesion and continuity in there.
