You'd have thought FSG would like to do a bit of cashing in too, if they weren't prepared to delve deep to strengthen. Mo has been dropping in quality steadily for some time now, yet he'd have fetched £100m in the summer instead of costing £100m and being worthless at the end of his contract

Mooted PSG interest in him for £70m in summer... maybe then is the time to cash in on his lucrative contract here for an even bigger one in France?Originally posted by Norbs View PostYou'd have thought FSG would like to do a bit of cashing in too, if they weren't prepared to delve deep to strengthen. I'd sell, but then I'd have sold last season too. He's not been on his game for way too long. £70m and £60m in saved wages, yes pleaseOriginally posted by Tribute View PostMooted PSG interest in him for £70m in summer... maybe then is the time to cash in on his lucrative contract here for an even bigger one in France?

Alisson will be fine for a few years, and Virgil will be OK provided he has decent layers around him.Originally posted by Paul12 View PostThis summer needs to be about getting rid of deadwood and those whose performances have drastically fallen away, but next summer needs to be the time to consider moving on from Virgil, Mo and Ali (and probably Thiago). too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I'd sell virgil in the summer if a big offer came in. Great bloke. Was a great player. He's not as good as he was. I don't think he'll get back to that level again. If we can replace with a younger more ala a konate, let's do it. No issues if he stays but he needs to get balls back and stop standing off people.Originally posted by baitman View PostAlisson will be fine for a few years, and Virgil will be OK provided he has decent layers around him.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

I think if/when we start functioning better as a team and start dominating the ball more again, a lot of our players will start to look back to their best. It's a very basic way of looking at it, but getting the ball after 5 seconds of pressing is a world of difference to getting the ball back after 5 minutes of shuttling from side to sideSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

Quite possibly true, but if you want to rotate your team over a three/four year period then "he ought to be OK provided he has decent layers around him" is not the way to go. Goalies are always a bit different.Originally posted by baitman View PostAlisson will be fine for a few years, and Virgil will be OK provided he has decent layers around him.

Not at all. I actually watched the PC as opposed to some who are reading the print.

He’s got so much credit in the bank.
Needs backing. Financially and from the supporters. It’s a tough time, but supporting a football club isn’t all about the trophy parades.Modifying post.

He will get that from the stands from men and women who have seen the good and bad and still keep turning up.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post
