Surely it should work in our favour that matip hasn't played for Cameroon for over a year, and yet during that time they didn't try to ban him from playing club football while they had an international match?

Which player is going to let himself be suspended from all football activities whilst we go through this legal processBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Doesn't make any difference at allOriginally posted by shanks69 View PostSurely it should work in our favour that matip hasn't played for Cameroon for over a year, and yet during that time they didn't try to ban him from playing club football while they had an international match?
You are at the mercy of the FA and whether they want to call the player up against his wishesBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I did think this but couldn't see any player being so unprofessionalOriginally posted by Roboklopp View PostShould go and score a double hat trick of OGs.

Is there a provision under English and Welsh, or European Law for a US type 'John Doe' scenario. I know that Mastercard fees challenge is going through as a class action on behalf of all consumers.
Challenge the rules on a general principle as it is wide ranging and affects lots of people rather than a specific individual challenging the rules to attempt to set precedent.Football without Origi is nothing

This is not just about retirement didn't the guy from West Brom turn up for the provisional squad because he was worried about being banned, then wasn't picked for the final squad and he is in the same position. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He retired under old regimeOriginally posted by shanks69 View PostBut they must have accepted his wishes for over a year and accepted he had packed in internationals.
New regime have clearly tried to talk him round. When that has failed they have gone in heavyhandedBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Not unless Cameroon release himOriginally posted by foresterbloke View PostSurely the fact he hasn't been picked for the last 23 means he's free to play? I'd understand if he's a named player but didn't turn up.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
