given the injury record of Lovren I have no doubt he will have some games there over December, maybe the question should be who else after that will make up the 5th choice CB?Originally posted by red g View PostFFS out till the new year. It's for that reason I'd want us to sign two centre backs...e.g. Van dijk and de vrij.,.them too as first choice with Gomez and Matip fighting to get in there...I'd consider keeping klavan as a cheap 5th choice experienced emergency cb and just sell lovren
Add a top class keeper, goretzka, Keita and auba and we'd be sortedi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

Some defenders are imperative now in January. Sick of this ****, just sign some some ****ing defenders that aren't made of straw ffs.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

Two new CBs is ideal, Lovren isn't really at level we need and as you say Matip just seems to be too injury prone to rely on.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I said at the start of the season we would be utterly ****ed if Matip got injured.
I was convinced we needed 2 new centrebacks, as neither Lovren or Klavan are good enough for 3rd choice.
I am surprised we have done as well as we have, to be honest.
At this stage my exoectations have become so low, transfer wise, id accept a cardboard cut out of Van Djik... probably be better than Lovren in the air, and more commanding in the box than MigIn the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

Has gotten an easier ride than most for poor performances this season. Possibly at least partly deservedly given when he arrived he seemed our only competent CB, whereas others have been stinking the place out for long periods. Is he just not good enough, or is it down to being surrounded by muck in a poor defensive system?
For me it's the latter, but I'd still be looking for another first choice CB in the summer.Like blood on iron

If you see further up, I mentioned something along those lines, although it was initially from the lads and lasses at the Anfield Wrap.
I'm not convinced on him, that's for sure. He lacks aggression and presence, but has the technical abilities, which again, I think he could do a job at DM, but he hasn't played there for yonks.

He's a bit too passive, gets bullied very easily. I wouldn't imagine a completely different defence every single game does him or any of our defenders any favours. Been poor this season but need to see what he is like playing beside a competent CB and hopefully Klopp stops ****ing rotating the defence so they build some continuity back there.

We're currently 5th, 3 points from 3rd place and have scored 14 goals and conceded 3 in our last five league games but yeah we're terrible etc......
