We look better with him. Even Konate, who I think is a great signing does not come close.

Matip was excellent. Pretty much as usual for him.
However, putting form aside. even he got horribly exposed for the Ajax goal and pretty much for the same reasons that Gomez was exposed badly against Napoli.
Serious blindspots on our right flank these days.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

The balance down the right isn’t there - Elliott doesn’t cover which exposes Trent, Matip came across and the ball went through his legs, VVD left with a 2 v 1 and they scored a worldie. Trent could have done better but Fab let a guy run off him to create the 2 v 1 against Virgil also.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostMatip was excellent. Pretty much as usual for him.

Because the team is still evolving and injuries are difficult to predict?
If the plan is to train to a new system, it could be difficult mid way to go back to what we were doing. As I said earlier this season, the team is somewhat in a bit of transition. We’re integrating a few players and the style has evolved a bit. Even Mo has had a slightly adjust to accommodate a more traditional centre forward. Are we winning?

I think Fredo is right that it has changed.
Said it in the Ajax thread that it has to be tactical because imo there is no way would Klopp allow TAA to go into business for himself and ignore the defensive side of his game the way he is doing unless it was part of trying something new.I don't hate people. And yet it is happening in every game so far this season. Not a chance it is not the by product of some tactical change albeit one that looks to be falling on it's arse over and over.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Clearly, but it would surely be possible for respite to revert to a familiar style while players return to the side, wouldn't it?Originally posted by Fredo View PostBecause the team is still evolving and injuries are difficult to predict?

Feels a little stubborn to persevere with it though doesn't it?Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostAnd yet it is happening in every game so far this season. Not a chance it is not the by product of some tactical change albeit one that looks to be falling on it's arse over and over.

It does to me, but whatever Klopp & Co see in whatever the change is, must have them thinking if it clicks that it will be worth the short to medium term pain.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

He did get exposed a bit although imo it is completely down to Trent. Trent got caught ball watching as per usual. Also in front of Trent .. Elliot just cannot provide the cover Trent needs & is doing us no favours defensively as well as not doing much offensively. It's just not his position. So yeah the right side of the team is just not working, even Mo scoring was great but I thought he was nowhere near his best again. Some li for like cover for Fabinho would be nice as he has looked so cumbersome and off the pace for quite some time now.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostMatip was excellent.
