it actually is a ridiculous concept.......the standard would be so ****e that you may as well not bother doing it.

I think it would be better working towards a global football calendar. Having the AFCON in the middle of a league season is ****in stupid. And essentially de-values the league campaigns. Let's say LFC lose the league by a point this season, and we dropped valuable points when Mane, Salah and Keita are away at AFCON (or they come back broken and have to miss games) then City / Chelsea won't have won the title fair and square. It will be a combination of them and the global football calendar.

I think that might actually be why we end up concentrating on the CL this season.
