Well, we have to pull our **** together and get fourth, maybe someone else will grab an opportunity in his absence, Origi or TAA for example.

Tbh I'd take that, I was fearing he'd miss the start of next season or something, if he's back for pre season then I'll be happy with that!

Might change my mind after tonight! But really, we probably only need about 15 points, if they cant get that from the games we've got then it's one of the worst failures in our history.

So is the torn meniscus different to ACL damage? they sound very similar

It sounds ridiculous but tonight is the biggest game of the season. And then every one thereafter will be the same. ****ing massive for the short term future of the club.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It's ****ing annoying as, with Mane, I would put my house on qualifying for CL. As it is, I feel our chances are about 80%.

Exactly. Another ACL would have been cruel.

It's not really, the bigger the gap the better, especially with the other fixtures.

Losing Mane can't be sugar coated. I'm not sure we've won one game without him this season which is ridiculous. But when we were without him we were also without Coutinho.

The fixtures we have left we should be winning with the players we have left but we are worryingly threadbare. Henderson and Lallana need to come back soon.

These injuries highlight how poor our overall squad is....Club need to recruit well this summer

ACL is the ligament that connects the thigh and shin bones together, meniscus is a cushioning layer of cartilage between the bones. Torn meniscus is much less serious than torn ACL. Usually just involves an arthroscope to shave off the torn bit. 4-6 weeks.

Thats two season ending injuries in the last 2 Anfield derbys.

                      Origi last season.
                      Mane this.

Lovren lucky not to be out with snapped leg.
Henderson the same from earlier in the season.

                      Disgraceful from Everton.
                      Modifying post.

have a bad feeling about tonight now.....wish we were playing a chelsea or arsenal instead of Bournemouth!!!

A lot of people said our squad wasn't strong enough this season. I thought that we would be fine considering that we are not playing in europe but injuries to Mane, Coutinho, Lallana, Henderson, Matip, Lovren - plus the long term Ings injury - have all shafted us at various points this season. And that doesn't include the Sturridge one-more-year project.

What is frustrating is that I think we have the best team - just our squad depth has let us down. And results against Hull, Swansea, Sunderland, West Ham, Bournemouth are what has cost us #19 this season.

What is positive is that our team will improve and our squad will too.

Hopefully we will still make CL this season - I think we will - and then we can kick on.

I reckon we'll scrape the top four through sheer will.

Massive blow but not unexpected. Let's just hope he can come back the same player. Ludicrous not to strengthen over xmas, so predictable. Taken a real risk on 4th, which is inexcusable.

We need 2 more players with pace of his ilk.
                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.

My friend had a torn meniscus. Was back within a few weeks. Mane should be ready for preseason thank God. Doesn't affect pace of performance either. Obviously osteoarthritis is a long term concern when he is much older but medical science will find a cure for that soon enough.

If we can somehow get a win tonight and Arsenal somehow mess up then top 4 should only be 2 or 3 wins away after that. For all of Everton's savagery they have served us brilliantly over the last last four days. We should be thankful.
                              One tit for another.
