if he can get fit - play the remaining 8 games and come up with 5/6 goals and help us finish 4th then just maybe he may save his career.......probably not with us, i'd say that ship has sailed......but if he contributed something at the tail end of the season it might get some interest for some decent clubs....

if he doesn't get fit/contribute then imo he's virtually just resigning himself to playing for west ham or stoke
It's all about Divock for me. I'm not sure he has much intelligence but that can be taught given his age. It's not really happened for him this season despite a small purple patch of five games. Hopefully he can string another run like that together as that's all we need to get the fourth.

yeah I agree divock is defo better placed at the moment but with our squad being so thin, then surely with 8 games to go it's now or never for studge - step up and contribute or fade away...

it's asking a lot at the moment that we only seem to have origi/coutinho/firminho fit for those three front spots.

I don't think Sturridge will start another game for us.

From the (small amount) of evidence we've had so far this season, I don't think that 1 in 2 striker is there any more. Back in Jan we were looking to Sturridge to cover Mane's absence and we might as well have had a paper mache model on the bench for all the use he was. I genuinely don't believe it is even worth considering him as an option any more and I think Klopp isn't far off that place either from his obvious frustration every time Sturridge's name comes up in press conferences.
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
          Mine angry and defrauded young?

Glad it's meniscal rather than ACL. Hopefully repairable rather than needing excision. Obviously gutted to lose him but should come back well. Need to get our **** in order in terms of how we approach games without him.

Why's there a speech bubble behind his head?

The difference in recovery times is huge

ACL is probably one of the worst injuries to have

Suarez tore his meniscus when he was with us (before the last World Cup) and was back playing in 22 days or something mad like that

You'd never get back from an ACL tear in that time
i've had this injury twice the first time i was out for 3 months the second 6 weeks and i wasn't getting the treatment mane will be getting it all depends on the severity if its torn it takes longer than if it was frayed

Jürgen Klopp tonight offered an update on the latest on Sadio Mane’s fitness ahead of Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth at Anfield.

The forward sustained a knee injury against Everton on Saturday and has been ruled out of the encounter with Eddie Howe’s side.

Klopp admits the Reds are still waiting to discover the full extent of the problem.

He said: “Sadio is not involved [tonight]. I cannot say more than I said yesterday, but it doesn’t look good and that’s how it is.

“It doesn’t look at the moment like he could play one more game this season, but if somebody wants to surprise me with positive [news] then I am open for this. We will see.

“There is no final judgement. We have to wait for more assessments and then we will know more.”

I've had a torn meniscus for 12 years now. Still play football, with a strapping.
                    Oh I don't know.

                              Can you not have surgery?

                                No point really.

I was in complete agony for about 6 weeks but over the years it's settled down. Doctor at the time said it would be more disruptive to operate than leave as is.
