I think he is a tidy player and certainly makes himself available but for me he is not positive or brave enough on the ball and his finishing is poor. However I do think he will get better. I predict he will have a key game were it all clicks and the boost he will get to his confidence could wipe away any lingering doubts.

I do agree, he is like a stronger early Joe Allen but then like Allen think the goals and more positive play will come. not sure if he played higher up the field for previous clubs but his goal ratio is pretty good everywhere he has been

Seriously, it's possible that Can's game suffers when he has to play further forward. He has his qualities, but I see him struggling in the type of football Klopp wants us to play. Klopp absolutely berated him at the end of the game yesterday. The way we play, we can't afford to lose the ball in certain situations.

Apart from Coutinho and an occasional Henderson blast and Studge we've got hardly anyone that's willing to pull the trigger from outside the area.

The one thing i feel about Can though is he needs games to get up to speed. He's not really been 100% i feel. And like most midfielders they need to be near full fitness as they tend to run the most/have most touches/dictate the game.

I don't disagree with that.

At the moment, Wij is in pole position, but that's not to say it will or should stay that way over time.

Excellent yesterday I thought, even without the goal.

Great goal though and I'm surprised we haven't seen more like that as he did that so often for Newcastle. Thought that was why we signed him actually, thought he'd be our Lampard the way he times his runs into the box, but tbf he's been brilliant in that deeper role for us.

I think he is excellent but probably doesnt get the plaudits as we are always attacking so he seems a bit redundant sometimes but he breaks up the play so well and he seemed everywhere when City were pressing yesterday.
