Great goal though and I'm surprised we haven't seen more like that as he did that so often for Newcastle. Thought that was why we signed him actually, thought he'd be our Lampard the way he times his runs into the box, but tbf he's been brilliant in that deeper role for us.
Yeah he's impressed me since he joined but not in the ways I'd have predicted really!

Maybe Lallana being further forward freed him a bit more up to get into those goalscoring positions. Up to now he's probably been playing with a bit more restraint than when he was at Newcastle.

If we can find a way to keep his tactical discipline but have him make late runs in the right situations I'm sure he can get on the scoresheet a bit more often. Wouldn't want to sacrifice his general play for it though, like you suggest his contribution goals aside has been important.

      Perfect for Klopp.

Was very good yesterday, and seemed to be getting further forward yesterday.....Not just for the goal, but he was around the box looking to be an option (though he wasn't spotted on a couple of occasions).
Had the obligatory ****e shot, but with that delivery from Lallana, you just knew that header was going in.

Annoying miss near the end but I thought he was class again today.

Other than the Miss he was brilliant. He must be frustrating as **** to play against always keeps the ball.

In fact he, Henderson and Lallana are unbelieveble on the ball in tight situations.

Frustrated at the time as he had three half chances but he's great isn't he? Utterly tireless, hardly gives the ball away and brilliant at winning the ball back.

And again there are people - including some Reds - who think he's ****. Mate of mine wants him sold this summer. And my Spurs mate reckons he's been as bad a signing as Sissoko for them. FFS. They're either not watching properly or they don't understand football. If that sounds snooty, soz. It's true.

I did question why we signed him in the summer, he's not been the player I thought that he was going to be (in a positional sense) but he has been a good player for us.

That said I would like him alot more had he stuck on of those chances away late in the game

I didn't want him either. Had no idea where he was going to fit in. I think he's really important to us and with everyone fit he gets in my midfield 3 ahead of Can every time.

Yeah he's ****ing quality, my favourite player this year bar Firmino.

He is such a good footballer, you don't have to be a flashy cunt to be a decent player.

We all know he can score goals, he's just been unlucky. Btw that pass to him today from Can was wank, people on here are saying he should have buried it; he had no time to control the ****ing thing for starters.

He could have done better with the header mind and he's decent with his head. There's far more to him as well, he's a decent guy and very positive and his positive mindset and general happy nature will rub off on others. It's that side of the game that people fail to see.

I thought Can was going to be a big player for us this season, but he hasn't pushed on and developed into the player I thought he would be, hopefully he will push on and turn into a good player for us.

He's not a player you can judge well by watching match of the day. You need to watch 90 mins to see how much he does for the team. His poor shooting doesn't give a great impression in highlights either.

Great play today. Best thing is no one knows why, so they continue to underestimate him, and us.

He took a few hospital passes and still made good use of them - was v assured again today

Wasn't great in the first half I thought but brilliant second half. Been a great signing but **** does he need to improve his shooting.
