Maybe Lallana being further forward freed him a bit more up to get into those goalscoring positions. Up to now he's probably been playing with a bit more restraint than when he was at Newcastle.
If we can find a way to keep his tactical discipline but have him make late runs in the right situations I'm sure he can get on the scoresheet a bit more often. Wouldn't want to sacrifice his general play for it though, like you suggest his contribution goals aside has been important.
