On the contrary he is probably the fastest mover of a ball on the pitch.Originally posted by Abro100 View PostWho needs keita.
I didn't know the return was that good. The only problem I have with wijnaldum is he can slow play or go sideways when in the final third as he doesn't have the quality or confidence to beat a man.

I disagree, it's not about confidence or ability, he doesn't do it so often because he understands his role in midfield properly. We use him box to box and he has defensive responsibilities too.
He can't afford to give the ball away stupidly in that position, although he still makes good runs into the box when the opportunity to do so is there.Y.N.W.A!!!!!!

He's a good mover of the ball but on the counter attack or when a pass isnt on he is not as good with the ball at his feet. He won't beat a man often which is an area he can improve on.Originally posted by Corndog View PostOn the contrary he is probably the fastest mover of a ball on the pitch.

Wini has been a very good buy, maybe lacks a bit of pace and skill but I reckon he's proved a lot of people wrong. Those stats are very impressive considering we don't have an out and out DM to cover his runs up top.
My issue with our midfield was that it wasn't dynamic enough, Wini, Hendo & Can are all too similar and in certain games that are difficult to break teams down you need something different. I think that is why Klopp has such a hard on for Keita, he is completely different to anything we have.
Whomever we bring in, Wijnaldum will prove to be an excellent asset for the team.

I think he expected to play in a far more disciplined manner for us that he did at Newcastle and especially at PSV where he had the likes of Strootman in the centre with him. He seems to do very well with either a dedicated DM in the midfield behind him or with aggressive/proactive box to box types.
I fully expect him to break into the low double figures for goals in the league this coming season though, and would be certain of it should we bring in some real quality for the centre.
Love his ability to ghost into the box/edge of the box from deep too. He has a lovely knack of being ability to do so whilst losing his marker.
Also think that games with that have Salah and Mane both starting will play to that strength too. He is the sort of player that finds the fast wide man and then bombs towards the box whilst the wide man advances with the ball.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

definitely think we are going to see an even better player this season, especially with ore quality around him.

Surprised he didn't start today. Seen little pre-season action recently. Why do we think that is? A show of confidence, that Klopp has no issue throwing him in against Watford, or is he dropping down the pecking order? If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I've always seen him behind Can but the truth probably is there is not much in it. The cynic in me wonders if Can is being favoured until the contract is signed.Originally posted by RedReet View PostSurprised he didn't start today. Seen little pre-season action recently.
