I do wonder if we will just cut our losses with Naby, forever injured or coming back from injury and hasn't really done much on the pitch ... on 120K pw aswell apparently.

...if I'm Klopp, I'd have been thinking this was his breakthrough season after all his injuries last year... so I'd be massively disappointed with his season so far. He's an expensive luxury we can't afford. Might not want to offload him this summer as his value will be peanuts. If he can play a bit more and without injury, we could get a decent price next Jan/summer...Originally posted by danperkins View PostI do wonder if we will just cut our losses with Naby, forever injured or coming back from injury and hasn't really done much on the pitch ... on 120K pw aswell apparently.
Tough one though as I thought he'd be awesome based on his Leipzig showing... one tough cookie, hard to knock off the ball and chipping in with goals from midfield. None of which has happened so far...

I suggested that he could be a surprise departure in the summer in the transfer window thread.Originally posted by danperkins View PostI do wonder if we will just cut our losses with Naby, forever injured or coming back from injury and hasn't really done much on the pitch ... on 120K pw aswell apparently.
I've backed him to the hilt, but it's the number of injuries that's the issues. He can't ever get a run of games, which has affected his performances when he's featured too.

yip i agree. He doesn't seem to be physically able to play for Jurgen. A bit like Shaqiri. They are just not up to the physical demands. All of Keitas girly injuries would back that up. Sore hip my arse.
I suspect that his stock is high in germany. I wonder would Bayern be interested in a part-ex for any of their players. Gnabry would be a brilliant addition under Klopp I think

extremely disappointing signing thus far. Looks so slow, timid and unsure of himself. I can't believe it to be honest.

Not disappointing?Originally posted by Fredo View PostHe’s not disappointing. We may have had too higher hopes than expected of him. Not surprising really judging by our track record.
I'd expected better than 34 PL games, 3 goals and two assists over nearly two seasons.
I did think this was his make-or-break year but actually I do think he's shown just about enough (with mitigation) to have another punt next year. Although the caveat to that is the afcons so i could see us moving him on if there's an option.

His injury record is appalling thats got to make him in the at risk category for meOriginally posted by labourRed View PostNot disappointing?

When he plays hes a bit of an enigma for me, I saw some of his stats the other day and they were pretty good (think it was the West Ham game) but I didnt think he contributed much in comparison to Chamberlain who replaced him (Keitas stats were almost the same as Ox's) but I thought Keita wasnt in the game for large periods of it either defensively or attacking wise
As I said not sure what to make of him as a player which coupled with his injury record probably means hes vulnerable to being moved onBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Sadly enigma is a good adjective for him. Timid would be another one.
When he first started playing for us I thought he went hiding which is just about the worst thing you can throw at a midfielder. I checked the stats around the time and he was posting figures around 40ish completed passes a game (over half of what you'd expect from a team dominating possession) which certainly backed up what my eyes were seeing.
He's definitely improved since the early days but he's still not nowhere near involved enough for whatever reason.
Do we think he'll ever mature into a player who'll demand the ball and dominate midfield? I'm not so sure tbh.
