Disappointment is a strong word and IÂ’ll leave it for if we donÂ’t win the league type of situations.
It's not really a strong word though is it. Devastated is a strong word. For me, this was a hugely exciting signing for me especially for someone who did actually watch him for Leipzig, type of player that gets people up off their seats. Injuries aren't anyone's fault but at the same time they don't do the club any favours especially with a big money signing and the pressure and expectation that comes with that.

For me, Naby thus far has looked a neat and tidy footballer, keeps the game ticking over with safe passes but also has seemed timid, disappears in games and looks slow and unsure of himself at times. I am waiting for him to really have a break out game and give us just more than a glimpse of the player we bought.

We paid 50 odd million for him, that comes with expectation. 2 seasons in and can anyone honestly say he has even remotely justified that fee? I am disappointed with what I have seen and not seen from Naby so far and like some predictably would suggest he is not a scapegoat, simple the signing has been an underwhelming one imo and I do think that most LFC fans would say the same. I don't think it is out of the realms to suggest it. Sure just look at the first few pages of this thread, we were all frothing at the mouth.. me included.

It’s also frustrating cos he’s shown signs of what we thought we were getting.
      3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Losing a loved on is devastating, Naby Keita not being his Rb Leipzig self is nothing of the sort.
        Was muß, das muß.

          Losing a loved one? Wasn’t it a cousin & he’s only injured?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Um. I'm not talking about his cousin, I'm talking about the use of the word devastating.

I had to reread it several times before the penny dropped.

He’s saying that loosing a loved one is devastating, Naby’s lack of form is not devastating. Disappointing yes but devastating no.

I think Dan knows this. That’s why he said “disappointing” is not a strong word, yet “devastating” is. Also, clearly he was talking about football here and no more, so widening the discussion to introduce real life loss is just silly.

So what about Naby starting tomorrow?

                            Who'd be in favour?

If Klopp is happy to start him, I'm cool with it. He's had no qualms throwing him in at big games in the past. The Barca game where he picked up the bad injury, the World Club Cup final etc. Although with those he had some games and form behind him. Would personally start him, but would understand logically why he might be left on the bench.
