He was absolutely a flop, there’s simply no two ways about it.

Signed for 50 plus mil and he didn’t deliver anywhere near enough to justify that. Even if he was signed for half the fee, he’d still have under delivered.

He played a massive part in making United look like right cunts on their own ground so the fee was worth it alone for that performance.

We’ve been spoiled. And supporters have very short memories.

It is time for a rebuild, but we can’t rewrite the past.

He was a good player when fit and was able to get a run of games, he showed what he could do, if he had been able to play at that kind of level for much of his time here he would have been a good signing. As it is I think he has proved to be a disappointing/poor signing. You can IMO be a good player but a poor signing.

People mention the international situations, but I think something our fans don't appreciate is how much playing for your country means to alot of players (this seems especially to be the case for African or South American players, and I don't think that is something you get away from.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

CL win in his first season, league in his 2nd. Coincidence that the two seasons he barley played have been our two worst seasons under Klopp?

                    I’m just messing.

I think everyone is pretty much arguing in agreement. He’s a decent player when he has had a prolonged run, which hasn’t happened very much. At his best he wasn’t really what we hoped he would be (energetic and technical box to box midfielder, aka “the missing piece of the jigsaw”) and didn’t justify the hype or fee, but could hold his own and follow instructions.

Anyway, he’s ****ing gone now so we can put this one behind us.

He was a “great signing” but utterly disappointing. I’ve always looked at him with glass half full as opposed to my half empty Hendo perspective. When he played he churned out statistical volume on so many radars but he just never passed Rte eye test. He was a massive failure if we are bring totally honest - what a coup it was to get him

Great signing so I thought too, then the cracks started to appear and I realised, yup turns out it wasn't a great signing at all. Instead it was one of the worst value for money signing in the clubs history. What a ****ing disaster, least like Ox he's not draining us weekly anymore
