€95m??!!! If we paid that we'd need our heads testing!
Honestly I could not care less what it cost at this stage .. he looks a complete player ... perfect for us ... there are not many players in World football can do what he or Virgil can do ... they will both kick on with us ... all players that fit this kind of profile do
Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015 #****CITY

I haven't been impressed by the numbers we're quoted as needing to pay to get him in early, to be honest. I appreciate we've put ourselves in a tight spot having sold Coutinho before setting something up, but for all the "don't care how much it costs" comments it does matter and I'd sooner we put that towards a player we may otherwise completely miss out on without that extra money.
I will be disappointed if we don't get someone in during this window, but I'll principally see it as the imperfect managing of the Coutinho situation rather than a wider systemic failure of the way we approach making transfers.

Could you explain why it "does matter" please?
Your post implies that we're scrambling about down the back of the sofa for £15m or so to secure a player who will immediately improve our midfield and help consolidate CL for next year. Who is this mythical player that we may miss out on because we have squandered our limited resources on Keita?

The scrambling about down the back of the sofa analogy is definitely yours rather than mine. Of course, you know I didn't say that, just like you know I didn't suggest there was a specific player we would now miss out on, but I prefer discussions with people on their actual rather than imagined positions.
So to be clear, our resources are finite and I think some of the figures being thrown around for an extra 4 months of Keita are less than favourable - reflective of that fact that we find ourselves in a ****ty position. So I will be disappointed if we don't get someone in, but will understand this may be more down to the tight spot we are in rather than FSG being ******s.
